A business trip to southern Austria afforded the opportunity for a one-night stay at the Salzamt in the historic heart of Klagenfurt. But when the taxi dropped me at the hotel entrance, I was afraid there was a mistake. The reception area is tiny and run-down, my reservation couldn't be located and when eventually found, the price was incorrect. Things... More

We stayed for 3 nights and found this hotel to be excellent. The room was spacious and nicely designed. It was very clean and the decor was to a good standard. The breakfast was very good. We had dinner in the restaurant which was also excellent and reasonably priced. The location could not be better, it is just over the... More

Stayed for a day. Spacious room, no wifi at the room which I think is outdated. You can connect via a cable...the bed was fine, shower etc too. There is a wifi in the lobby, but you have to get a code first. The breakfast was also good. Friendly staff. Only negative is that you can't park next to the... More

The location of this charming hotel is great. It is in the pedestrian area but as a hotel guest you are allowed entry to check in with luggage and then the underground car park is only 3 mins away under a main square, very easy to find. The hotel is at the top of the main street for the best... More

This is by far the nicest hotel I've stayed at in Austria. Cannot recommend it enough. A family owned independent hotel it is a delightful place to stay at and right in the centre of the old town. Cleanliness, etc, all perfect, as well as an enjoyable place just to be in.

A modern hotel with a Rennaisance touch. Large, comfortable and clean rooms with lots of natural light. Well maintained clean bathrooms. Helpful staff. Adequate breakfast in a refreshingly open setting. However, no iron in the room. Reasonable amenities. This really is the place to stay in Klagenfurt - Central. Look no where else!

spend only one night in this heritage protected Renaissance palace whilst on a business trip with 11 guys from Australia. Situated in the centre of Klagenfurt, this is one of the best Hotels I have stayed so far. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and comfortable with a very good breakfast in the enclosed inner courtyard.... More

Wonderfully converted palazzo, turned into a quality hotel. Spacious rooms overlooking the main church. I was there just before Christmas and there was a light dusting of snow and a good Chriskindlmarkt to add to the atmosphere. Excellent restaurant with local specaliities, and offering a good breakfast selection in the morning, including really well cooked scrambled eggs. The staff very... More

We selected this hotel following Tripadvisor's reviews. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed by the personnel. The building's renaissance court is beautiful. The rooms are very spacious, but most of them have almost no view due to the narrow alley on the building side. Overall I would recommend this place to stay for it's perfect location and friendly service,... More

This was an expensive hotel but worth every penny - even though the pound/euro exchange rate at the time made it even more expensive!! The room we had was really comfortable (all the rooms were individually designed) - really comfortable bed - spacious bathroom, and you had the feeling that the people who ran the place wanted the experience to...
