I have just returned from a weeks stay at the Furstenhof Guest House in Alpbach and was very happy with accommodation. The room was on the front of the building, with balcony and views of the ski slopes. Breakfast was plentiful, with a selection of cereals, breads, hams, cheeses, fresh fruits, juices, tea, coffee and even a boiled egg if... More

Stayed for a week through a Crystal Ski package. Clean and spacious room, very traditional, comfortable and warm. Heated racks downstairs for ski boots, and garage to store boards/skis/poles. Breakfast each day was a plentiful continental and a nice chance to chat with other guests and the hostess Marianne. Location at the top of the village was a ten minute... More

We recently stayed at the Guesthouse Fürstenhof in Alpbach booked with Thomson and for £119 each pre-upgraded to half board evening meals at the Hotel Alphof next door. I wouldn’t recommend the half board package as it isn’t good value for money. The food choice is limited (3 mains including 1 veggie, except on BBQ night), portions are small and... More

We booked this as a cheap little birthday break through Thomson and what a nice surprise this guest house turned out to be. Our host Marianne is very convivial, normally serving a typical continental style breakfast but goes that extra mile to accommodate special requests (e.g. one guest asked for soya milk) and importantly ensure that guests who depart earlier... We were rather disappointed on arrival after reading great reviews. The room was not large but had plenty of storage, and was very clean. A small bathroom (basin and loo) and a separate shower.Plenty of hot water though. Although Marianne was in attendance in the mornings, breakfast was a slightly chaotic affair and basic continental, and we felt she had... More

I stayed at this Guest House in September 2013. I found the Furstenhof to be a quiet retreat, with my balcony overlooking the fields and mountains at the back of the Guest House. My room was simple but very comfortable, spotlessly clean in every way, and had the feel of staying in someone's home rather than in a hotel. An... More

We decided to combine a typical pension (bed & breakfast) accommodation plus guaranteed balcony view, with main evening meal taken next door in the larger 4 star Alphof. What a great decision. The hostess Marieanne, was really friendly and welcoming. She offered us a choice of rooms and we chose one on the second floor with a balcony view over... More

I have stayed in Alpbach on many previous occasions since my first visit in 1968. I recently returned to the Furstenhof along with 4 friends for a long weekend, staying for 3 nights in a 5-bed apartment on the top floor. All the rooms were very clean and comfortable, with everything available for self-catering had we needed it. Instead, we... More

Stayed here for one week's skiing holiday, through Crystal. One of the nicest B&B's I have stayed in for a skiing holiday - very clean and the room was large and well appointed and plenty of storage space. Even had proper haridryer in the room. TV and was able to get BBC news. This is only ranked as a two... More

We, like the previous reviewer, have always stayed half board in hotels in Austria. This time however, we chose to book last minute with Crystal and the Furstenhof was the only accommodation available in Alpbach. En route to the pension our rep made it very clear that if our host wasn't in situ when we got there, then there would... More
