Just back from a far too short, end of season stay. The Madrisa is just so totally and utterly relaxing. Not much ever changes - which is just perfect! The restaurant setting, food and service is as always excellent. The management and staff are always very friendly and totally professional. And the snow was amazing, fresh end of season powder.... Spent Christmas here with partner and two kids. Old fashioned, family run hotel, excellent service from arrival to departure. Good family room with two bedrooms and a small sitting room. Decor a little dated but high quality fittings with charm. Housekeeping is excellent. Pool and small kids play room and table tennis room gave them somewhere to get together. Dining... More

Just stayed at this charming hotel for the umpteenth time. It's addictive. The Rhomberg family who own the Madrisa are always charming, friendly and helpful. Rooms are comfortable, spacious and always clean. The food is superb and substantial and service is typically Austria high standard. The wine cellar extensive as is the enthusiasm of Raymond the head waiter. Carola runs... More

We stayed in the Madrisa hotel for 9 nights in August and we really enjoyed our stay. It's an ideal location for hiking tours, very close to the Schafberg gondola. Beautiful environment. The hotel is also organizing guided hiking tours twice a week. Our room was very quiet and comfortable (although the interior was not really our taste) and our... More

This hotel gives you quiet authenticity with a fantastic staff team working hard behind the scenes to make sure every detail is in place. If you want glitz then this is not for you but that, perhaps, is its charm. We left after a week feeling relaxed and refreshed (although possibly a dress size larger than we had arrived, due... We've stayed here many times and have always loved it. Beautiful ski area, hills not too crowded. Staying at this hotel is like staying in a beautiful country estate. Population of the village is 300. It's at the end of the road going up the mountain. Great for any age, with or without children. And the food is wonderful. They... More

Stayed at the Madrisa for an extended weekend with two friends. Very helpful and friendly staff. Great atmosphere and the dinners were excellent. Good location, and the heated room for skies and boots gave a really comfortable start of the day. Two things that can be improved: - The bar have free smoking. Since the room is not separated from... More

Pleasant family hotel. All the staff are excellent and do their jobs with real pride. If you stay in the old wing the rooms are a little dated and bathroom facilities are poor, however this is reflected in the price which is cheaper. Having stayed in both I'd recommend paying the extra and using the new part.

A wonderful family hotel. Great food. Great service. Nice friendly atmosphere. Excellent location. Good value for money. This was our first time but one of our party has been every year for over 20 years. We will be back next year.

My family and I stay at the Madrisa for 6 years now to spend our skiing holidays there. Still we can’t wait to return. It is a beautiful old hotel, next to the slopes, in the lovely skiing area Gargellen. The atmosphere is friendly and quite. The food is absolutely delicious and service personal is very courteous. In the bar... More
