Linz was our 2 day weekend stop between Salzburg and Vienna. I chose Hotel Wolfinger based on its excellent location and positive reviews. I wasn't disappointed. I had requested in my email, in less than perfect German, a room that faced front, over the Hauptplatz. The room was bright, large, and very comfortable. Nice bathroom with a stand up shower... We stayed here in mid-fall of 2014. It was a perfect choice. Lovely inside and out. On the main square, within walking distance of many historical high points, shops, food markets, restaurants and trolly. Wonderful breakfast and extremely friendly and helpful staff. We look forward to returning

Great family owned and operated hotel. Convenient location for my work. Clean, comfortable room. Breakfast offered at 06:00 with adequate selection. Professional, helpful and friendly staff. I will book here again if I return to Linz for work or holiday.

We stayed here for a couple of nights as part of our tour and we wished we had stayed longer. We were welcomed by the lovely staff and had the privilege of meeting the owner who was more than happy to talk to us about the history and how he became involved with this superb hotel. The breakfast was amazing... More

We were delighted with both the architecture and antiques filling this beautifully restored old building. We had a family suite that was huge by comparison to most places we've stayed in. The kids loved the parquetry floors creaking as they tried to cross the floor ninja style. Although there was no view from the internal facing room, the hotel is... More

We loved this charming hotel with old-fashioned décor and a lovely ambience. Most hotels in Linz boasted about their modernity and it was not so easy finding something a little more traditional, but the Wolfinger scored highly on this. It's right in the centre of town in the most central square so was perfect for sight-seeing. The Danube, old-town and... More

In terms of location in Linz, the Wolfinger can't be beat, but if you're looking for a modern, sleek hotel, this isn't it. But here you'll get great service, an old-fashioned yet charming room, and a more traditional Austrian experience. We stopped in Linz for just one night to visit its Christmas markets. We chose the Wolfinger following a recommendation... More

We were made welcome and felt very comfortable in this hotel. The breakfast room is spacious and airy. The hotel feels relaxed and peaceful. The staff were extremely helpful and kind. We didn't know what to expect in Linz - most of the guide books seem to advise against it but we thought we visit for a few days anyway... More

Rooms are spacious (included a couch, chair, desk and small table in addition to two night stands) but the television has only one English-speaking channel (CNN). Shower was large but the shower floor was very slippery and dangerous.Like others, we did not like the pillows.Breakfast room was quite attractive with paintings and portraits providing old world charm. The breakfast buffet... More

The hotel is in a great location, on the main square. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. We had a room on floor two overlooking the square. As the room was quite warm we chose to open the window while sleeping. The noise from the square was loud well past midnight with all kinds of yelling,... More
