My family of three stayed in a triple room (one king bed, one single bed) at the Gruner Anger and was mostly satisfied by this family run B&B. The room (room 214) was large with its own foyer and separate rooms for the toilet and sink. There is no air conditioning, but no place in Hallstatt has it, so you... More

This hotel is located just south of the city centre. The rooms were pretty basic. My room had two single beds, a tv, closet with security box, and a nice bathroom. I loved the breakfast. They had quite a nice selection of eggs, bacon, meats and cheeses, juice, coffee, and some little desserts. Considering the size of Hallstatt, this hotel... More

The breakfast spread is better than my hotel in Vienna. Food is freshly cooked and is constantly being topped up. Must not miss the dinner - soup, salad, main course and dessert at a price that one can never get from outside. It makes me feel so privileged to be a guest of the home. The stroll around the vicinity... More

The Gruner Anger hotel is a block off the main road and just 2 blocks from the start of old town. This makes it both quiet and convenient. We had a room on the top floor in the back. In addition to having a great view, it was quiet and we heard no road noise. There's a small entry way... More

I like Breakfast, Dinner. Free bike, cleanliness, and Nice service by owner. Their Dinner is nice and valuable, recommened. If you do not want a fancy dinner in Hallstatt, Dinner in Gruner Anger is nice. Few choice but good taste. However, you need to book for dinner meal before 4 PM. since the owner are cooking and serve by themselve.... More

Very very very nice owner! Clean and comfort room at cheaper price. Great breakfast for asian (there is a rice and im thai). No elevator. No lake view only the mountain view. You can walk to the lake and enjoy your time there. The best family-run hotel so far.

The accommodation, cleanliness, hospitality - everything is beyond par. Initially I hesitated booking this because I was looking for something next to the lake but after staying here I would stay nowhere else in Hallstatt. It's hardly a 10 min very pleasant stroll from Hallstatt centre, and if you give advance notice the owner would very gladly pick and drop... More

We spent a night in a loft room here. It is clean, spatial, and equipped with roof windows taking the mountain view. There are also anteroom and wet & dry partitioned toilets. Though it may not be super luxury, all you need are there. The hotel owner is very helpful. Breakfast is with large variety of foods and delicious...of course,... More
