This pension is located behind the Abbey and in the center of town. I think the only con was the stairs, which are cumbersome with luggage, but that's Europe for you; deal or get out. Other than that, the rooms are clean, the staff is friendly and fluent in English, and the food in the café downstairs is very good.... More

Day four of Danube cycle. Sited right in town centre overlooking the fountain and square with restaurant below. Lock-up area for bikes around the back. Rooms were clean, light, bright and airy. We were upgraded (room 2), it was massive. More like an apartment with additional sofa, table & chairs, fridge, large bathroom with bath and separate shower. With windows... More

I stayed for two nights with my mom in May. The room (overlooking a little square) was large and spacious, with a sitting area, antique wardrobe and a comfortable bed. The wi-fi worked well. The view from the room was unreal - just like a postcard. The bathroom was clean and adequate even if the decor seemed a bit dated.... More

Fantastic location. Rooms in the back are literally right below the abbey. My other family members had rooms in the front. They were not disturbed by late-night partyers, but street cleaners had very loud equipment at 6 30 am. Definitely go for a rear room. My only disturbance was an-overly-entitled American moaning about lack of parking space. People like that... More

It's a restaurant cum hotel within the heart of a very small town. They offer private parking although you need to drive through narrow one way street to reach the parking. Rooms and breakfast were OK. The most wonderful part of this place is it's location. In the evening you feel time has transported you a few centuries back. Sit... More

In a great location in this lovely little town. Room was large, well appointed and quiet. Bathroom immaculate. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast in the bar just what we needed With tea/ coffee making in the room it would have 5*.... Great value. Euro 65 for the two of us.

I spent a November weekend touring the Wachau valley on the Danube, and I spent 2 days at this hotel. The hotel has a great location, right in the center of the town, across the road from the Town hall, in the pedestrian zone. Melk is a quiet little town on the Danube, but has an enormous and important abbey;... More

We were two couples travelling by bicycle along the Danube. We were very interested in spending some time at the Melk monastery and the location of this hotel was within walking distance right below it. The rooms we had overlooked the main street and were clean and quiet. There was no hairdryer, but after asking at the bar, one was... More

Very good value stay in the heart of Melk underneath the monastery - lovely sound of the bells. We stayed in a room on the front, overlooking the main street and outdoor cafe, so was noisy in the evening and into the small hours (had to have window open as a hot night). So I would suggest asking for a... More

Cafe Restaurant zum Fürsten is a good option to spend a night or two in Melk. Located in the heart of town, it's just a 5-10 minute walk to the famous monastery. Breakfast is alright, the rooms are very clean and it's very quiet.
