We stayed in Krems because we were travelling by car, and Krems is as far out from Vienna as you can get and still be on Vienna’s commuter rail line. It was a way of visiting Vienna without the traffic and parking hassles. In this respect Krems was a perfect location, and Goldener Engel was a good choice of hotel.... More

lovely staff who could speak good english, our room was amazing - modern and what a view. Quite warm though. Breakfast was one of the best. Everything and more. Quietly located but a about a 10 minute walk to town.

While the price was comparable to other Gasthauses - this place offered good service and very comfortable rooms in a quiet neighborhood. However, they distinguished themselves with a delectable breakfast featuring tortes, fresh fruit and much more. We skipped lunch as a result. GREAT value.

Wow! Talk about a disappointment. Despite what some reviewers have said, we found this place to be a dump where we would not feel safe. It was difficult to find but we did. We were looking for a cheery, free-standing hotel surrounded by flowers. It is painted yellow and does have flowers but it is located on a narrow one-way... More

This was a great hotel, the rooms looked like they had recently been modernized. Our room had a child's bed and cot in it and was very large. We stayed here as part of a cycle tour and all the hotels we stayed in didn't have air con, this hotel had good opening windows though so it did allow for... More

On a lovely quiet side street, garage for the bikes across the road. You can tell that the owner loves the place, quirky layout, huge rooms! Window have good curtains, proper insect nets and black out shutters! A very appreciated pool, on the terrace above the hotel, which also gives you great views over the town. If up there at... More

We stayed for two (very hot) nights in August. Receptionist that checked us in spoke excellent English and gave us some good tips on where to eat. Nice pool area with views of a vineyard. Room did not have air conditioning, but did have windows to open as well as a table fan. It was nice that the duvets provided... More

This is a typical gasthof style hotel, basic and a bit dated, but spacious rooms. We were welcomed by a very friendly receptionist who spoke excellent English and pointed us to the locked garage where our bikes would be safe. The reception is also a small bar but this closes at 9pm which is a bit of a shame if... More

Very clean and good looking rooms. Nice to have colorful towels! we had purple. Breakfast was big enough and included many fruits. It was possible to eat outside. Friendly staff. I'd like to come again!

Very pleasant hotel. Locked garage for our bikes. We had a clean and spacious room at the back of the hotel so it was a quiet night. It was an easy walk to the city centre. The breakfast was generous with cereals and all sorts of other interesting foods that would keep any nationality happy. We arrived early and that... More
