On arrival no visible reception area. 35 degrees centigrade on arrival. No a/c and my request for a fan was met by bemusement. Room adequate with wifi. Hotel had a pretty terrace with good food. We were served by Jennifer who was charming and the hardest working waitress we've ever seen ! She is a real asset to the hotel.... More

stayed at hotel, not gasthaus; higher priced than other locations on the Danube cycle route; clean & comfortable; location out of historic touristy old town area; bicycle storage away down the street & around the corner, but OK; excellent breakfast; helpful staff; obviously a favourite of Danube route cyclists.

The restaurant is really good here, always full, great food. Also good breakfast. Bike storage is approx 50m away, no problem. Concerning the room, nothing special, normal, clean bathroom, but you probably all know the feeling when you look at the crinkled bed and are not sure if it is properly cleaned, and it does not smell fresh and rinsed...... Upon arriving we couldn't find reception to check in - there is none. We were told we have to walk through the dining room and find a server to check us in. She was incredibly rude and abrupt, and I understood her hurry due to her being the only one in the dining room. We were told we weren't allowed... More

Pleasant bright room, lots of windows with nice outlook. Reception a bit hard to find, in bar at front of hotel. Bike storage was up the street, then we had to come back and climb lots of stairs (lucky we are fit!). Dinner was reasonable but restaurant smelt a bit from smokers in bar at front. Breakfast we had to... More

Delicious and fine restaurant with very tasty things. I suggest the garlic soup and then the goulash, a very great one. The restaurant is alongside a fresh creek, so you can stay also outside on the roaring water; they have a large (but very expensive) choice of wines but. Price are medium, but very reasonable if you consider the quality... More

Arrived from a bike trip. Front of hotel would not even try to help us. She said after third attempt I have sore foot. She gave me directions to lock bike up , but having not been there before I misunderstood the directions - she actually rolled her eyes and huffed. I apologized I was disturbing her and such a... We did not stay at hotel but ate at restaurant for dinner - delightful setting by brook. Very good service, spritz, red wine - Volcano Weingut Hans Igler Eur 39 Wiener Schnitzel and Saibling fish. Quiet conversations only at adjoining tables such a pleasure. Eur 77 Traveled as a (mature age Australian) couple for seven weeks in Europe in July/August... More

Very small room on wrong side of hotel. Facing noisy street. Penultimate nite of a seven day bike ride down the Danube. Had to lug bag up two flights of stairs. Just as well we left one downstairs. It wouldn't have fitted. Really hot and no aircon. We ate elsewhere. An unpleasant experience all round.

Stayed for two nights - at the start and end of a week in the Wachau Valley. Find it hard to be overly positive about this establishment. The Hotel is in two sections but located close together. We stayed in the older section where a good restaurant is located. Rooms were outwardly OK but services fairly basic but walls of... More
