The Burgenland is a 1980s hotel that is clean and is situated within a short walking distance of everything there is to see in Eisenstadt. The main restaurant is pedestiran and the small bar allows smoking and is attended, apparently, by someone who has other duties as well. The breakfast room is much nicer than the restaurant and provide a... More

A year after our first visit we came back to this hotel as a base for attending opera and operette performances in neighbouring villages. The hotel is conveniently located at one end of the sloping Hauptstrasse in Eisenstadt. The Esterházy Palace and the Haydn House are within walking distance. It is a quiet town and so is the hotel. The... More

The rooms are big, the air-conditioning did not seem to work however and made the room stuffy. The beds are comfortable though for a good night sleep. The staff at the reception was courteous and yes they proactively handover the wifi access to you. Lastly the breakfast was lacklustre and the whole restaurant seemed dead during breakfast, despite being full... More

We were only at the Burgenland for one night, but it exceeded out expections in every way. The room was larger than most European hotels, bathroom had a shower and tub, there was a fan to help with cooling, and breakfast was extensive. We did not eat in the restaurant other than breakfast, however. Most importantly, wifi was EXCELLENT! Also,... More

"a very warm welcome" is what they promise in the brochure and that is exactly what we got. Yhe hotel is conveniently located at the foot of the sloping main street in a quiet area. Staff is most friendly, nice room ( we got an upgrade to a suite), very clean. The lobby and restaurant are simple but adequate and... More

This hotel is really a place to avoid. First of all, people don't speak English after 11pm. Then there was a terrible noise in my room coming from the wall like an egine running. The first night I phoned 3 times to the reception and the noise suddenly stopped. The guy from the reception came to drum on my door... More

The hotel is clean and spacious and promises more from its appearance than it offers. We were to arrive around 10pm on a Sunday evening and so phoned ahead to check that the restaurant would be open. We were told it wouldn't be but there were several places nearby to get food. Venturing out at 9:50pm we found absolutely nothing... More

My husband and I stayed here from the 10th to 15th March. Its location is excellent and central. Rooms are big and have a nice layout. But somehow the hotel is soulless - and this goes also for the lounge and breakfast room. Staff do not go out of their way to be nice and helpful. There was a smell... More

Value for money is OK only if you just use the room . Parking is EUR 12.50/day, which is a lot for a middle class hotel. They have a swimming pool. It is almost creepy dark. If you want a bathrobe: costs EUR 5.00. Internet was confirmed free of charge in the lobby. It appeared it was only 30 minutes,... More

We stayed at the Burgenland for four nights during the Haydn Festival. It's location was convenient. The hotel itself is fairly featureless and the rooms much like any others in this type of hotel - possibly a bit larger. The reception and bar staff were excellent and very helpful in answering our queries. We ate in the bar and the... More
