There are 2 Piolet hotels in soldeu, the one we stayed in was near the gondola and chair lifts, justs 5 mins walk away which was great. Stayed in the Himalaia last year and thought that was poor, it wasn't compared to this one. Good points plenty of lifts, good views of slopes and close to gondola, thats all folks. I stayed at the hotel piolets with family and friends for 7 days in January 2007. The location was fantastic, close enough to the ski lifts to have that little extra lie in and also to get home again when your feet are aching in the evening! There were great views of the slopes from the rooms at the back... more

Just returned from Soldeu. have stayed here many times before and enjoyed the ouside jacuzzi and ocasionally the terrace bar in the evening sunshine. The hotels facililities have previously been included in its 4* price but this time they charge for everything despite the agents brochure! ($12 per visit to the spa downstairs) skis are 'obviusly' not allowed in rooms... more

Thank goodness we had snow! Mountain staff did an excellent job of keeping the slopes open and groomed. Excellent ski school. Found Hotel Piolets to be reasonably comfortable and it's redeeming feature was it was near the gondola and lift! Food was the worst I've ever sampled, cold, undercooked, dull..... Fatty's Bistor and the Hotel Bruxelles can be highly recommended.... more

The food is truly dreadful. It was served cold even when you got to the buffet as soon as it opened. Not only that, but raw food was served as the norm (raw meat, frozen vegetables just to name a few examples). It is a miracle more people do not get food poisoning there.
