Spent a very enjoyable week at the Elysium. Criteria for the holiday were as follows: 1. Warm and sunny 2. No more than 4 hours from the UK 3. Excellent quality 4. Good facilities Overall, the Elysium ticked every box, except for the weather which wasn't anyone's fault. We did have 3 very good sunny days at the end of... more

Loved the Elysium. Great decor, loads of space, very relaxing. We had two interconnecting rooms instead of a family suite which worked out cheaper. We were full board and more than happy with our options. We mostly ate in the buffet in the evening but tried the Italian on the last night and it was superb. The staff are great. Drinks... more

This is a lovely hotel, well worth its 5 star rating. We had a maisonette room which was very spacious and although meant for 3 could quite easily fit a family of 4-5. There was the main upstairs double bedded area and living area downstairs. Two bath/shower rooms. The pool and gardens were all well cared for. August was a... more

It was a long journey and almost 7pm before we reached the hotel and almost immediately we felt refreshed as soon as we entered the reception area. We were greeted and made to feel welcome. The hotel is built like an Indian Palace, so well constructed with a huge attractive reception area, 4 restaurants, phenomonally beautiful swimming pools, private beach... more

Arrived to be greeted with drinks, escorted to room and what an amazing room. Sea view, balcony, amazing. Weather 29 degrees all week... Accomodation - excellent. Food - superb Staff - friendlier than could be believed and nothing was too much trouble. Very few children and those that were around stayed away from the main pools and stuck to the... more

We wanted some time away to chill out and recharge the batteries - the hotel fitted the bill perfectly. Hotel is located a good 20 min walk from Paphos harbour, but is less than 5 mins from a small range of bars / restaurants. Hotel itself is luxurious - buildings etc are impressive and immaculate. Staff are very helpful -... more

This was our first time at the Elysium and will probably our last unless they re-think their costings. Our bed and breakfast 2 weeks cost over £5,000 with flights from our local airport and we paid another £2,000 for the meals and drinks in-house (a Kir Royale costs virtually £17!). We did eat out for four of those nights too!... more

We loved the architecture and detail of the hotel, as well as the layout of the gardens and terraces. Everything was clean and the staff was very friendly, courteous and personal. We felt very welcome. Although the prices of drinks and food - as most reviewers are saying - is high, the way it is presented and served is at... more

We had a fantastic holiday and read the reviews before we went. Agree with some and not others. Hotel was spacious, no crowds, quiet and peaceful, clean and the staff were helpful and courteous. The hotel and Paphos itself was quiet, we didn't have to queue for breakfast (except Sundays), or wait to be served or helped. The breakfast had... more

The Elysium is a very good hotel, made special by the staff who are really great. Fabulous location, fabulous facilities, but...! The rooms are definitely not up to a good 5 star standard, being quite small and even having an ordinary over-bath shower complete with tacky plastic shower curtain. The second thing to beware of is the profit mentality of... more
