Our tour offered either the Onar Village, (a newish tourist complex) up the hill outside Girne (Kyrenia), or the tiny, private hotel Fehmarn/Nostalgia in the old town, amongst the narrow streets. I had a notion of the 1940's film 'Casablanca' featuring Bogart & Bacall, so prevailed upon my wife to choose the latter. Spot on! The atmosphere was perfect. A... More

We stayed in this hotel with my friends for short period of time during our visit of Northern Cyprus. The location of this hotel is very good: in the old city, quiet, near to the harbour (where you can find restaurants and sightseeings). The reception welcomed us very friendly and was helpful and polite during our stay. This hotel has... More

I guess it is the fate of single rooms to have the poorest standards among all rooms in a hotel. This fate didn’t change for me in Nostalgie Boutique Hotel. In fact hotel is a nice place with an authentic decoration and rooms named according to famous people in Cyprus’ history. It is centrally located, both the port and the... More

Nostalgia Hotel deserves its name! The place is filled with antiques and spectacular old wooden furniture-I slept in an old iron bed. I spent half of my 4-day stay there writing in my room, the other part, exploring Girne and surrounds a bit. My room on the ground floor was spacious and there was a small table for me to... More

This is no more than a back packers place to stay. OK I only paid €30 for a night but the whole place is in total need of upgrading. What's even more annoying is that if you just turn up you only pay €20. The sink was ready to fall off the pedestal. The shower was disgusting and the staff... More

My friend and I stayed in this hotel recently. The rooms were ok but we had to request hot water for showering. The breakfast was appalling and when I asked for a drink of water I was told I would have to pay for it!!!! even though I didn't drink the tea, coffee or orange squash that was on offer.... More

If you don't mind hearing the call to prayer you'll be fine. Good value near harbour, great location really. Fridge in room. Some staff seem a bit grumpy but it's just their nature, very helpful if you ask. Use of pool in next door hotel. Would go back.

From my room early in the morning I hear in the distance calls to prayer from the mosque, later in the morning I can smell the bakery on the little square below the hotel is opening. Later on,I see from my window, children visiting the bakery on their way to school. The daily life in Kyrenia has begun! If you... More
