Visited at Christmas. Good food, buffet-style and clean public areas. Lovely sea-view room. But there's nowhere much to walk outside the hotel grounds. The beach and foreshore in December were filthy- too much rubbish to make walking along the beach to the classical site at Salamis much fun. The local government needs to get its act together to support out... more

There are several reasons I felt compelled to leave this hotel after one night. Firstly, ok it was November, but there was NOTHING AROUND it, Famagusta is not a holiday resort and even the scrap of beach outside wasnt picturesque. The hotel was built and decorated many years ago and was completely devoid of any soul or character. Outdoor areas... more

We stayed at the Salamis Bay on our last night of a study trip to Istanbul and Cyprus, as we were flying back from Ercan airport the next morning. The Salamis Bay was not destroyed or left to itself after the Turkish invasion in 1974 - it would be interesting to know why it was spared such a fate. After... more

The place was noisy, i was given a room which had a conecting door to another room and i could here the other person breathing!!!!, the place was more like a 2 star, falling to bits,... more

The hotel itself is nice and the rooms were kept very clean and tidy by the staff, although as in all hotels that open all year there were little maintenance jobs which, by October, needed doing (chiefly the surround to the bath). The restaurant service during the first week was chaotic although the hotel itself was not busy. The staff... more

This was our first visit to Northern Cyprus and we had a wonderful time. We did read the reviews before we went so were prepared for disappointing food, poor accommodation, poor customer service and an isolated area....but... we were very pleasantly surprised. The hotel complex is very clean, our room was very nice and comfortable, the staff made a real... more

Having just spent 2 weeks at the Salamis Bay Conti Hotel, I feel I should warn other people about this hotel. It certainly is not a 5 star, just 3 at best. The reception area and staff were excellent ... but the bedroom we had was very shabby with the carpet very stained and the furniture not very good, In... more

We have just returned from a two week, two centre holiday in Istanbul and North Cyprus and we have had a great time. We arrived at the Salamis Bay Hotel on Tuesday 22nd September 2009 to a warm and friendly welcome from the hotel staff. Our room was light spacious and well appointed and looked recently decorated. The bathroom showed... more

This hotel came highly recommended however upon arrival, we were not even met with eye contact at the reception desk. we waited for 12 min's to be acknowledged then told our fully paid for booking had been lost even though we presented a confirmation receipt and booking reference and id. After finally being shown to our rooms we were met... more
