End-March unseasonal sunshine brought fantastic weather for several days in the Grand Duchy so I visited Vianden and lunched on the verandah of the Hotel Oranienburg. Thought it would be a total 'tourist trap' but price was reasonable and service very friendly and efficient. Excellent view up at the 'schloss' (Castle). More

“Cheap, great location but lousy rooms”

Great location, reasonably priced and adequate breakfast included. Staff was friendly too. However, it had thin walls, so you can hear everything in the rooms around you. The shower had no barrier or curtain to keep the water from going everywhere. Total mess! No hairdryer either. Rooms were very dated and this hotel desperately needs updating. More

We stayed at Hotel Oranienburg in Vianden Luxembourg in March 07. We paid 192 Euro for one night in a double Grand comfort room (view of castle), with gastronomic evening meal. Although a lovely space the room is so horribly decorated it could make you cry – unless intensly yellow wallpaper, garish fruit patters on all the soft furnishings and... More
