For Faroer standard quite a good breakfast (fresh omelette, some danish pastries, smoothies). The view over the bay of Torshavn is stunning, all rooms face the sea. The Koks restaurant in the hotel is excellent and even pricey definitely worth to go. The bar has real good coffee (compared to other filter coffee you usually get in Faroer). On the... More

We stayed 3 night at Hotel Foroyar, and had a good time. The hotel is very clean, well kept, staff is very friendly. I did experience some frustration on 3 counts: 1- yes it gets a little annoying to be asked to give your card for "deposits", 1000 DKK upon arrival (even though the room is already paid for), 600... Nothing really to criticise: breakfast good, rooms comfortable, bar a bit dull. The place is just too far out of town and as Torshavn is the only place worth visiting on the whole archipelago this is a shame. Also worth noting that the bar has a very limited menu but the restaurant was very popular and must be booked in... More

I stayed at this hotel for two nights and enjoyed my stay very much. My room was clean and spacious. The view was over Tórshavn, and except for some people walking on a path some hundred meters away, you have total privacy. Only some of the local birds do get near to your window :) I was part of a... More

There are very few flights from Britain to Faroe and they are only in July and August. We booked this hotel because it was the only one with spare rooms (or more precisely a spare room), after I had booked the non-refundable flight. So it was a bit "Hobson's choice". The design of the hotel is consciously quirky, but we... More

We stayed here 7 nights and it was a good experience. Breakfast was nice with a lot of choices. Room comfortable with a great view. The hotel is a 25 min walk from town. There is a bus during weekdays every 20 minutes, but to reach the busstop you have to walk a small path downhill. (And when you go... More

Imagine a Bond Villain's lair furnished by Ikea and you would come up with a close approximation of this hotel. Set into the hillside and with a grass roof the hotel has a very low profile but this means all the rooms have a great view down the hill to the bay of Torshavn. The room are very comfortable with... When I arrived at the Hotel Foroyar and tried to check in, I was told that check-in wasn't until 90 minutes later. "But if you pay 300 kr extra, you can get into your room now," the receptionist informed me. Not "Your room isn't ready yet" (which would have been perfectly fine), but "We're using this rule to get more... More

Hotels in the islands are not spectacular and at the beginning, being a 4 star hotel, I had my expectations higher than I should probably. The hotel is ok, for the region very good, but for a Western average, it is not good value for money. It is difficult to find as there are no directions although in The whole... More

I have been at Hotel Foroyar for 2 nights during a business trip. I can tell it is an excellent accomodation. Rooms are large, clean, with a super view on the city (I had room 120). Breakfast is good with many things to choose. You can relax also in the lobby where you find design furniture and comfortable chairs in... More
