Arrived Oct 2 2010 Bedroom smelled musty and had twin beds even though I stipulated a double. The said there was no double rooms available even though I booked in January. They said they would try the next day or zip two single mattresses together. Thy did this and it seemed comfortable enough. During the night the two what appeared... More

We were put in a supposedly new renovated room. This was a total lie. The roof was falling, the window curtain was extremely dirty and yellow and leeking. The lamps were yellow as well because they were too dirty. Everything looked like it hasn't been cleaned for the last century. I learned that in fact the hotel contents 2 parts,... More

Having been here before and had a very good experience we were very unhappy that this quaint hotel had been turned into a student hostel. It was full of teenage language students who not only monopolised the pool for much of the day, but also kept us awake right through the night. After 10 days of complaining the manager eventually... I can't believe some of the unhappy reviews I have just read. The Imperial Hotel is a great place to stay.It really gives you the experience of traditional/old Malta. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and the staff are very helpful, friendly and professional. The dining room has an excellent choice of food at breakfast and evening meal. The hotel's location is spot-on only... More

This hotel was obviously once the height of fashion but unfortunately now it just looks dated. The room was reasonably large but the bathroom was a 70s shocker with brown clashing tiles and a rubbish shower. The swimming pool was good and it was very quiet in May so we had it all to ourselves which was lovely for a... More

I enjoyed the Imperial very much. My room was large (if a bit bare) and perfectly adequate, and downstairs was wonderful. Breakfast was disappointing, but dinner was stupendous. (When I was there people staying at the hotel could book in for dinner at a special rate - it's worth it.) The position is pretty well perfect - just up from... More

The Imperial Hotel was exactly what we expected it to be after reading existing reviews and considering what people thought was good about the place and what they thought was bad. We chose to stay at the Imperial because it was away from the hustle and bustle of the shore-front; not that we noticed a lot of noise there when... More

We stayed in the Imperial Hotel for a week it was for a busy city quite nice, traffic noise was low, people noise was low, apart from the School in the morning where you could hear the children counting and singing numbers it was nice to hear to be honest, the room was large, clean and generally in good condition,... Stayed only one night because the atmosphere was very oppresive, the rooms were shabby, towels were placed on window bottoms because of leaks, bathrooms decrepid, the bedroom corridor was like somewhere you would be taken down to be tortured! the breakfast was totally unappetising with only three other guests and piped music that reminded us of the crematoriam. we could...
