this Hotel was just as it said it was ....we went with no expectations , we expected it to be old , tired and historical , what makes a holiday is not the hotel but the people staying there , we have made good friends and had a good relaxing time ....however I am pleased to read that the dining... We expected a pleasant historic hotel. We found a hotel over run by youths making noise initial the earl hours and also during early morning and afternoon. Staff typically Maltese abrupt and short on pleasantries. The edroom was average apt best and the bathroom horrendous. We removed at our request after two days to a modern ordinary hotel which was... Like many others,i have stayed at the Imperial every year, for about 5 years (some even over 17 years). NOW BEWARE --this formerly majestic hotel has been transformed into a chaotic youth hostel. New groups of the most noisy, some probably ill bred, certainly ill supervised mixed youths arrive, seemingly on a continual daily basis. The noise starts as soon as they... More

Dear Mr. F, Thank you for your review just posted. However, while I do respect your opinion I think that you are forgetting the very basics of hotels – i.e. selling its rooms to paying clients irrespective of age, nationality, sex etc. In this case we are talking about 18 year olds which in my opinion are considered as young... I chose the Imperial for my week's stay in Malta because I was looking for something different from the usual high-rise concrete rectangle, wedged into the seafront promenade with the other hotels. The Imperial Hotel claims to be the oldest hotel on the Island. It's public areas are both grand and charming with lofty painted ceilings, glittering chandeliers and a... More

Dear Client, Thank you very much for your review. I have to concur with you that a group of younger aged clients (average age of 17 years) could have been better supervised by their leaders. We do apologise for this. I do not understand your remark about the b’fast being ‘bland’ when we offer a choice of five types of... More

We came on holiday here last year (sept 2014) for two weeks. We found the hotel to be a very comfortable place. The staff were all very helpful and very pleasant from the maids to the restaurant staff to the reception staff. They did all they could to ensure you had a good holiday. The room was comfortable and clean... More

We spent a couple of days this week at the Imperial to relax. Upon arrival we were allocated a room on the front with a window opening onto the road. It was not to our liking because we feared there would be a lot of traffic noise so we asked the receptionist (sorry I don't remember the name of this... More

We have just returned from a week at the Imperial Hotel and may I say what a delight has been. This is a little gem of a hotel in a great spot in the heart of Sliema. If you want modern, small rooms or posh service - this is not the hotel for you. If you want atmosphere, relaxed, large... More

We were in Imperial last May. It is a great hotel with old charm. Staff is very pleasant and useful. Everething is nearby-sea,bus stopes, ferry, promenade, shopes, restaurants ,even Valetta. If you are all day out this hotel is perfect. I don`t understand complains about breakfast. Come-on, people, do you have the same quantity and choice every morning at home?! It was a... More

Dear Guests, Thank you very much for taking time to share your stay with other clients. We appreciate your comments. However, I feel that I have to clarify the issue relating to the lift.
