Our third trip to Malta in two years, this was our first stay at the Imperial. Our trip was last minute and the price was good. Having read previous reports on this hotel, we were not going in with our eyes closed. Yes it has character, the staff are very helpful and friendly. The rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels. The... more

We have stayed at The Imperial over a number of years and always returned as a consequence of the friendly atmosphere and cleanliness. This is not a shiney, soul-less modern edifice with fixed-smile staff, the colonial style of the building is matched by the family feel of familiar faces, over nine years of stays at the Imperial the turn-over of... more

Agree with most of recent reviews, specially the last one. We had room 205 - on reflection would have beenbetter on ground floor, as cooler, - we used room 109 as courtesy room at end of stay, and the air con was much quieter and more efficient, plus less sun hammering on the flat roof. In hindsight, would have sked... more

We stayed here whilst visiting family in Malta and experienced no problems. The hotel is set a little way from the waterfront which means a short 5 min walk through the streets of Sliema. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel for longer trips. The hotel is one of the oldest buildings on the Island having survived WW2.... more

This hotel is a good base for the physically fit to explore all the sites of Malta; you must be fit because Malta is extremely hilly and this hotel is at the top of one of them. There is a bus stop outside, and when you have mastered the local very accurate bus time table the islands are you oyster.... more

Booked with Malta Direct. A gem of a hotel - OK, a little faded but still with appreciable grandeur and style. Doesn't attract families with youngsters, so a complete absence of noisy screaming children. Tall, marbled lobby, relaxation areas provide a cool, easygoing atmosphere ... half close your eyes and you are back in the days of the British Raj.... more

this hotel was truly a great find, reading previous reviews we were a little apprehensive to say the least, but we were pleasantly supprised, the entrance hall was like something out of an old film set with marble flooring and two magnificent staircases. we arrived late evening, unpacked our bags after finding our room which overlooked the pool area and a... more

One week stay at the Imperial Hotel, Malta, booked through local travel agent using "Sunspot" tour operator for single traveller with walking disability. Accommodation Half-Board flying with Air Malta I had read the mixed reviews of the Imperial before travelling there and was pleasantly surprised and to be fair the hotel exceeded my expectations. Most of the other comments on... more
