My husband and I have just returned from Malta staying at the Fortina Spa Resort. Upon our arrival we had been upgarded to a sea view room - which was definately not a 5* room. It was on the seventh floor overlooking the building construction next door which meant very dirty balconies, door to balcony also did not lock so... more

Stayed at the Fortina Spa in 5 star side, great room with our own outdoor jacuzzi, it was great. We paid extra to have more tv channels, did not cost much. Food was wonderful but you did need to book so many days in advance to get in each restaurant. We also used the 4 star restaurant which was your... more

My husband is disabled he had no problems in getting around the hotel and... more

Upon arrival, having booked directly online with this hotel, we were offered a "sea view upgrade" without explanation. The room was facing a concrete structure and with a bit of imagination was indeed a sea view prior to the construction of the flats opposite. Balcony was covered in sandstone dust from the building work attached to the 5* hotel Tower... more

This hotel has a great location but is far from being a 4 star hotel and it is apparent as soon as you walk through the door. The reception area is passable but the hotel generally is shabby and way past its best. Fortunately we had dine around and thank goodness because the food and the service in the main... more

We stayed in the 4* hotel. Reception staff not particularly friendly. Room although having a spectacular view was shabby, dreary and smelly - very much in need of an upgrade. It was cleanish but an occasional whip round with a duster would have spruced things up a bit. Had to request room exchange before we unpacked and after a lot... more

Five star it is most decidedly NOT, unless your only criterion is the amount of marble used in the décor. Mindlessly built (with the most expensive spa bedrooms lacking sea view), mindlessly decorated (a cross between Roman baths and a grotty pub) and mindlessly furnished (if after what you have read, you still do get in there, do check out... more

We have stayed at the Fortina many times in the 4 star, but had not been back for 3 years. This year we went into a spa room in the 5 star hotel for 15 nights for my wife's 60Th birthday and yes it was expensive but it was money well spent. The room had all the equipment, steam shower,... more

We have just returned from our honeymoon which my husband booked as a surprise. I was really looking forward to it as had always wanted to visit the spa resort specifically. I have to say we found it to be disappointing overall. we found the food to be wonderful (we stayed half board) and the restaurant staff generally pleasant. What... more
