My sister and i just returned to Ireland today after an amazing week in Malta. We stayed in The Carlton Hotel in the centre of Sliema. It is situated overlooking the bay which is spectacular to view day or night. The hotel is basic at a budget price but it delivers everything it promises and more.It is very clean, plenty of hot... More

For the pluses we found this hotel an ideal location and central to all places of interest, ie Valletta, St Georges & James bay. A nice walk along the front will take you to all. The staff were great and very helpful no matter who was on shift. Rooms were basic but clean with hair driers for the ladies with... More

We stayed in The Carlton Hotel on 27th dec for a week, the hotel is quite nice, clean very basic. Staff Very friendly and very helpful. We found the hotel very noisey as it was on a corner between main road and side road where there was non stop traffic,( this would be very easily fixed if they put double... More

Just returned from a very wet week in Malta spending five days in the Carlton Hotel.Ideally situated on the sea front between St Julians and Sliema. Bus stops to explore the island are just outside the doors so the location is perfect. Hotel itself was what I expected. Everything reflects the price you pay. No bar or restaurant, just a... More

Central to Sliema and you can walk to shops and restaurants, with easy bus access to valetta. Great sea view. Cheap digs. Suitable for backpackers holiday. Most certainly not 3 Star as advertised by Venere.com. 3 Star would include gym, tea facilities in room, restaurant. None of these available. When we complained to Venere.com, they told us it was a... More

We stayed here for a week at the end of November to the first week in December and had a very enjoyable stay in the Carlton hotel. The hotel is ideally situated between St Julians and Sliema and is literally a stone's throw away from both. The rooms are cleaned daily including the sheets and fresh towels are also given.... Nice hotel and smiling helpful staff. For people who like to be in between Valetta - historical sight and close to Paceville - which is loud. You can't hear the music at all from Carlton but you are still close. Perfect for people who both like nightlife and relatively peaceful sleeping. Again - nice and very helpful staff and no... More

Stayed in mid October, easily got to the hotel via airport bus which stopped outside. went back on taxi arranged by hotel for 5 for about £20. Hotel basic and sea view but no balcony, not that they were very big anyway. Convenient for getting around via buses, not far from the Valletta ferry and the bars in St Julian's.... More

Only thing going for this hotel is the friendliness of the staff and good location for touring Noisey at night - tiny room for standard breakfast not great choice - not value for hard earned money - wouldn't be inclined to stay in room if it was raining - dark and dingy
