A second visit: eighteen months after our previous stay we returned to this little paradise in "La Valle del Montone". Nothing had changed and it was like returning to the bosom of one's own family. We enjoyed a week of laughter, good food & wine and the inevitable mid-week party. You do need a car to get here, the local... More

This is a special hotel run by special people. If you are a foodie and want a special adventure, this is a great place to stay. We enjoyed cooking lessons, truffle hunting (The dog found three black truffles :-)), a visit to Ravenna and venture walks. The food from each cooking lesson is enjoyed by all that evening. Try and... More

We spent three terrific days in this hotel. Family owned and operated in the tiny town of Portico di Romagna. Hospitality is outstanding, friendly and welcoming. Although there are no famous tourist sites nearby (Florence is about 90 minutes away) there is lots to do. We went truffle hunting with Mattais and his terrific truffle hunting dog and found about... We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a yoga 'retreat' (actually more like a feast!). The main part of the hotel was full so we were given a small apartment in the village, which was very comfortable and gave us plenty of our own space, Because of our yoga commitments we had a 'brunch' at 10:30 and a... A family run hotel which is really welcoming. We were five ladies of a certain age on a weeks cookery course which lived up to our every expectation. Great opportunity to learn in a professional kitchen , to enjoy local produce and wine. Our holiday was enhanced by visits to wine tasting, local cheese making, truffle hunting and Yoga. The... We stayed at the Vecchio Convento for 7 nights late March, and loved every minute. Its a family run hotel, and from the time we were met in Forli by one of the sons, we felt part of the family. Marissa, the matriarch, is tireless. Not only is she around all day it seems, but she enjoys every minute of... More

We recently visited Al Vecchio Convento with 3 generations of our family ranging from a two-year-old to +70. The family who owns and operates the hotel and restaurant and every member of their staff was kind and accommodating from start to finish and made each member of our family feel like part of theirs. The rooms were fine and the... More

Different to anything I have experienced in recent years. Health and safety never been heard of, but despite that and the fact that I am in my eighties and on a stick I managed and enjoyed the atmoshpere enormously. I wouldnt change a thing; it would ruin it and attract ladies who lunch and the like. It is something only... More

I stayed here six nights during a recent vacation in Italy and can't say enough good things about this hotel. The family that runs the hotel is terrific, friendly and welcoming. The food is fabulous. I had a half pension that included the best breakfast buffet I've had in any small hotel, and the dinners were four course and all... More
