Have just returned from a fabulous week at the Calypso Hotel in Marsalforn. The location is beautiful overlooking a small working harbour with views across the vast mediteranean ocean. The staff are so friendly, the food delicious and the location lovely. I had a country view room that looked out onto a narrow road with some countryside in the distance, but... More

It was cold when we arrived in Gozo and the heating didn't work in our room. The first night was spent sleeping in jeans and a t-shirt and, with no desire to freeze to death on our second night we decided that we had 2 choices: Ask someone to fix it (which means waiting for someone to fix it) or... I stayed at this hotel as part of a group of Ramblers walking on Malta & Gozo over Christmas/New Year. Marsalforn is quiet at this time of year, but very busy during the summer. Hotel rooms are available from noon until noon; depending on what time you arrive/leave this can be an advantage/disadvantage. Reception was quick and efficient with registration.... More

This is the second time I have written a review about the Calypso, like the last time it is not about the hotel itself because I have not stayed there it is about their Sunday buffet lunch which my wife and I have enjoyed many times.Unfortunately the last couple of times we have been we found it to have deteriorated terribly.The... Went for a weekend in this hotel with my friends and ended up disappointed. Lunch and dinner were unbearable. VERY limited choice of food to choose from. As for dessert - only a single piece of apple pie was offered, which had roughly 5% of apple content in it. Also, our room did not even have a kettle for a... More

This is by far the most excellently bad experience I have ever had in a hotel even if it was a short 2 night stay. This is why I am putting in a thorough review of a place not worthy of a certificate of excellence. Let me start you off on how my stay in this hell... sorry hotel was.... More

Do not stay in this hotel. It was a nightmare to spend a weekend there. The room cooling system did not work. The view out of the balcony was of a rubble wall. Our room was nice and spacious but in one of the rooms there was no wardrobe to unpack in. The hotel staff was extremely rude especially the... More

Can't compliment this hotel enough. Great food, lovely staff and good service. Room was excellent, clean and comfortable A lovely place to stay right next to the small harbour. OK there is no beach to lie on, but not many on Gozo anyway, but a great place to relax or to go out on more active days out.

A very pleasant hotel in a lovely Gozo village. Great room with a massive balcony that got sun all afternoon. Super views across the bay and down on to the fishing boats. I would have preferred a buffet dinner to the plated meals we were served as part of our tour, but the food was OK. Drinks etc expensive, but... More

The hotel is very clean and has a pretty decent breakfast. On the whole, you get good value for money. However, the hotel desperately needs to upgrade TVs in the room (they're way too archaic) and to have its own parking lot and gym. We also asked for a kettle in our room for which we were charged a fee... More
