This hotel is perfectly acceptable: the staff are friendly, the food is decent, the rooms are fairly spacious. However, our stay was a disappointment simply due to the very uncomfortable mattress plus the cheap nasty pillows. If the management could at the very least upgrade the pillows then it would make a massive difference. Marsalforn is well located for exploring... More

I slept at this hotel for carnival with friends. The staff were friendly and the rooms were clean. The breakfast wasn't that satisfactory but it passes. The pool and the view are magnificent. Well done but deserves 3*

We chose this hotel because I was diving at a centre in Marsalforn, Calypso was highly rated on Tripadvisor and wanted a good hotel as a base whilst I was diving. Arriving at Calypso Hotel, Gozo after twelve hours traveling from the UK we were looking forward to get settled. However there was a problem with our booking. After a... More

This was the third time my wife and I stayed at Marsalforn's Calypso Hotel. This time we chose a sea view room which faced the small harbour and Marsalforn Bay. Having stayed there twice before we knew what to expect and we had (by e-mailing the hotel before our arrival) ensured our beds had soft mattresses. The breakfast (we had... More

Have just returned from a fabulous week at the Calypso Hotel in Marsalforn. The location is beautiful overlooking a small working harbour with views across the vast mediteranean ocean. The staff are so friendly, the food delicious and the location lovely. I had a country view room that looked out onto a narrow road with some countryside in the distance, but... More

It was cold when we arrived in Gozo and the heating didn't work in our room. The first night was spent sleeping in jeans and a t-shirt and, with no desire to freeze to death on our second night we decided that we had 2 choices: Ask someone to fix it (which means waiting for someone to fix it) or... I stayed at this hotel as part of a group of Ramblers walking on Malta & Gozo over Christmas/New Year. Marsalforn is quiet at this time of year, but very busy during the summer. Hotel rooms are available from noon until noon; depending on what time you arrive/leave this can be an advantage/disadvantage. Reception was quick and efficient with registration.... More

This is the second time I have written a review about the Calypso, like the last time it is not about the hotel itself because I have not stayed there it is about their Sunday buffet lunch which my wife and I have enjoyed many times.Unfortunately the last couple of times we have been we found it to have deteriorated terribly.The... Went for a weekend in this hotel with my friends and ended up disappointed. Lunch and dinner were unbearable. VERY limited choice of food to choose from. As for dessert - only a single piece of apple pie was offered, which had roughly 5% of apple content in it. Also, our room did not even have a kettle for a... More

This is by far the most excellently bad experience I have ever had in a hotel even if it was a short 2 night stay. This is why I am putting in a thorough review of a place not worthy of a certificate of excellence. Let me start you off on how my stay in this hell... sorry hotel was.... More
