Just back from WGL after a great weekend celebrating my 60th birthday with friends. It's very handy for the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust at Slimbridge and there is also pleasant walking to be had along the canal. The hostel is warm and comfortable and suitable for a group of mixed ages such as ours (2 to 80+). Good facilities, a good... More

I have just come back from staying at the Wild Goose Lodge with my group of over 40 people, mostly made up of couples and families with young children. We had a great time and our Easter weekend gathering was a success because the lodge was fantastic accommodation plus Charmaine did a great job of managing the whole process. The... More

Our extended family; 33 of us aged 3 to 73, stayed here over four day's at Christmas. We ate and partied in the lodge and took in the local sights which included Gloucester, the Wildfowl Centre (brilliant) and even a Hunt gathering. Charmaine, the manager who lives next door, couldn't have been more flexible and helpful, especially with our self... More

This is our first time here and we came here as a party of 35 for Christmas. The Lodge itself is spacious and extremely practical. Accommodation is basic – reflected in the price – but clean, functional and warm. We were staying in a family room and the double bed was very comfortable. We took our own food as it was... More

We have just spent a lovely weekend at WGL celebrating my Dad's 70th birthday, ages from 1 to 79. Family stayed in the clean, comfortable, well laid out rooms and then on Saturday an extra 30 guests came for lunch catered for by the staff. The service was great, friendly, very helpful and staff accommodating with all our requests. We... More

Our first impression of the venue when we arrived on Friday afternoon was, what a great location in an interesting place. We had booked a booked for a big family and friends party for a 70th birthday, which was to be held on Saturday lunchtime. Our age group was from 1year old to 80 years. The welcome from the staff... I am not an avid reviewer on TripAdvisor and actually have a rule that I only ever make positive comments to those who deserve it. I feel that people are more likely to review a bad experience than a good one and so try to live by the 'credit where credit is due' adage. On this particular occasion I am... More

We've just got back from the Wild Goose Lodge having spent the weekend at a family reunion in its peaceful setting and cosy atmosphere. With our group of 30, ages 1-78, the facilities suited all. It was clean and comfortable with plenty of space for the young ones to run around. We will recommend to friends and will remember for... More

We stayed here for our 2014 reunion. It suited our group of 30+ people whose ages ranged from 60 + to -2. It was comfortable with excellent facilities. We largely catered for our selves, but for those wishing to eat out, the Tudor Arms at the end of the lane is excellent. All in all it was a great weekend.
