We stayed here for one nigh whilst visiting family in nearby Shepton Mallet. It's deceivably spacious inside, with some nicely positioned sofas scattered around the place, & with a couple of log burners on the go it was nice & warm, whilst freezing outside. We never got a chance to have dinner, but breakfast was very nicely made to order... More

We returned on New Year's Eve for a second time, having thoroughly enjoyed 2012/13. I'm pleased to say that the food, accommodation and quality of the beers were just as good this year. The owners and staff did everything they could to make the event enjoyable but this year, many of the locals didn't appear, so the event was quieter... More

We celebrated our 45th anniversary and my 65th Birthday here on 13th Dec. We live in S. Wales but most of the family live hereabouts. As it was that close to Christmas we were offered the Christmas menu and not one of the 16 guests including two little ones had anything but praise for the food ,which was amazing and... More

We fancied a pre Christmas weekend break somewhere in the UK we had not visited before. The Oakhill Inn offered just what we were looking for! A lovely spacious room, wonderful comfy bed with feather duvet and pillows plus a fabulous ensuite with roll top bath;the candles adding to the ambiance. On arrival we were made to feel very welcome,... More

We wanted somewhere nice for a meal with a group of friends for my birthday, and having had some really good food here earlier in the year, Chris and I suggested the Oakhill Inn. There were 8 of us altogether, and a table was reserved for us, but the lad serving the drinks and taking the food order was really... More

OK, where to start. Arrived well in time for our meal, which incidentally was on a Tuesday, so hardly rammed to the rafters. The response on arrival was not frosty, but neither was it welcoming. A simple "oh right, you're tables over there" response.. We sat at the table and after about 10 minutes of waiting the waitress came across... More

We've just spent a night here as a family of 6 adults and a toddler and could not fault. We used it as a base to see Bath Christmas markets and the super helpful and friendly owner arranged our taxi for us in advance which was great as well as letting us use all the facilities before we left! Then... More

The atmosphere was pleasant. The food was very tasty and the chef gave an interesting slant to most things. The puddings were great. The staff were amazing. They could not do enough to please us and what ever we asked for there was a wonderful smile. There is no childrens menu but they do half portions of anything on the menu.... More

The quality of the food is good although sometimes a little limited. Local & seasonal so game was on the menu several times on our visit. Puddings can be a little miserly though & having tried several crumbles (that are presented in little ramekins), I've not found a tasty one yet. Their sticky toffee pudding was delicious though! Dogs are... More

We booked this Inn as a stopover after staying in Cornwall. Our bedroom was quaint with a tiny bathroom, but what do you expect for an old building. Dinner in the very lovely restaurant was delicious. Bubble and squeak was an accompaniment with one of the main dishes, but on asking if I could have some as my starter (cheeky... More
