Tichfield itself is a lovely village and is very nice however avoid the bugle bar staff have been employed from a youth club and service is non existent . They treat you like you are tourist and the language is unacceptable . Other pubs in the village are very welcoming . Best thing to do is close this establishment as... More

Sadly I have to make a very strong recommendation not to stay here. I was embarrassed to share the breakfast table with an Australian lady, and feel I had to explain that most places in the UK were not like this. I tried to find someone in the hotel to explain what I had experienced, and that they will go... More

Unfortunately we didnt have a good experience, we found it very dirty, cutlery, crockery, carpets, bathroom. Thankfully the bedding was clean. I got into the shower at 7.30 and had no hot water. Definitely would not recommend this hotel to anyone unless they put some money back into refurbishment. The outside area was a joke !!!

After visiting the Fisherman's Rest and the Titchfield Mill just up the road which were very nice and very busy I expected the same here but I found it a bit rough around the edges and was the only customer at 2.30pm. Of the beers on tap I ordered the Bugle Ale which I have to admit was warm, flat... More

I can only comment on the beer as did not stay in the hotel, but it also acts as pub. Myself and 2 friends visited last Saturday, 3 ales were on offer, the first two were stale, flat and vinegary and were returned, we tried a pint of Doom Bar which is all that remained and that wasn't much better... Despite the terrible service from hotels.com who relocated my booking and did not notify me or the Bugel, my stay at the Bugel was great. I turned up to a situation in which my booking had been cancelled and the Bugel found a way to make the situation work so I was not thrown out on the street in the... More

Used The Bugle for an annual meeting of 25 people in the Function Room. Owners were very helpful in suggesting a suitable menu (3 courses with coffee). Function Room was well presented The meal was excellent and very good value. Lovely chef, lovely staff. We would use venu again. One of visitors stayed overnight and was very happy with the... More

Old fashioned hotel in Titchfield village. Loads of beams and sloping floors, low ceilings etc etc. I stayed here one night only, I had a nice double room which was comfortable, clean and well equipped. I had a meal in the bar in the evening, I had ale pie, which was good value and very nice. Breakfast was freshly cooked... More

Loved the place. I stayed 5 nights, so had time to investigate in depth. I was doing some training in the area and wanted a traditional inn atmosphere... and the Bugle has it all: Wood beams, open fire, rickety stairs, convoluted passages, and a good cellar. The food I had was fine... good, basic grub well prepared... and the ale... More

After arriving in this quaint village for a one night stay we couldn't of asked for more. We were showed to our room which was full of character proper beams which is a novelty these days. We ate in the restaurant and the food was nice, my husband was over the moon about the choice of ales, breakfast has a... More
