My Wife & I with our Daughter & her Family spent the June long weekend at the northern Assistant Lighthouse Keeper's Cottage. This cottage was tucked behind the other cottages, so to us it seemed very private and had a north-facing verandah that was bathed in lovely warm winter sunshine.Although the Lighthouse (which is actually at Seal Rocks) on the... Hi Vietgolf We are delighted you and the family enjoyed your stay! We agree that the Assistant Keeper's North cottage offers privacy with its separate entrance ... and allows winter sunshine. The verandah is delightful ... with its uninterrupted views down Lighthouse Beach to Treachery Headland and beyond. The night time beams are a surprise to guests unaware of the... More

I states here in February 2012., it's quite stunning and like no other place I've stayed before. I was staying with my 5 children without my husband. I would say this isn't really a good place to stay with kids, as you have quite a hike up from your car to the cottage. It's pitch dark at night, which can... More

Hello Bridge1978 Thank you for your helpful review. We see you stayed in 2012 with your children ... you might be pleased to know the cottages now have guest lanterns ... wonderful for evening walks! The cottages are frequented by many families who, like you, appreciate the pristine waters, unbuilt environment and clear skies ... and the amazing spectacle of... More

We feel so lucky to have been able to stay at the lighthouse - we were on a road trip North and only had one night and were lucky enough that the owners had one night free and allowed us to stay (its usually 2 nights minimum). I would recommend a longer stay so I am sure we will be... More

Hello Gerbilsontour It was a delight to have you and your friends stay ... we are pleased to have had a single night vacancy to make available for you. It seems you maximised you short stay ... with beach walks, champagne, the evening lighthouse beam experience and a fantastic dolphin display. We look forward to your next stay and thank... More

The site is magnificent and the accommodation is comfortable. We had a great time. The lighthouse is historic, well kept and beautiful. If you get the chance to meet the last official keeper - do so. He has unparalleled knowledge of the light, keeps a mini-museum and is a great person. Make sure you plan your food and bring it... More

Hi Cedric Yes! Mark, the last lighthouse caretaker of Sugarloaf, has a depth of knowledge, enthusiasm, humour and lifelong connection to lighthouses ... Sugarloaf in particular. When he's home in Seal Rocks and onsite, our guests are delighted to see his collection and have a chat. The Headkeeper's cottage is popular ... the three bedrooms and tariff inclusive of 6... More

Voted by the whole family as place we most want to go back to! This beautiful piece of paradise, kept isolated by the national park surrounding it, is for those who want something more from a holiday stay. The National Trust cottages are steeped in history and beautifully presented, the staff are just fabulous and the location sublime. We did... More

We have just returned from a three night stay in the Assistant light keepers cottage (North). The cottage easily managed six of us, four adults and two children. It is a magical destination, the views, history, wildlife, and remoteness all added up to a wonderful trip. We didn't even mind the rain as it was dramatic watching the skies change.... More

An easy and picturesque drive from Sydney through beautiful bushland to Seal Rocks, SugarLoaf Lighthouse is a truly unique destination. It such fantastic history and the cottages are immaculately conserved, with sweeping views over the most pristine beach. It's hard not to feel like king of the mountain, in such an exclusive and very private dwelling on the very top... More

The lighthouse cottages lived up to our every expectation. Weather varied from a howling gail and rain, which made for a very cosy evening , to clear sunny days with the ocean indigo blue. We just spend 4 midweek glorious days in the North cottage. The location is fantastic being on the coast of course. From our veranda or grass area we were able to sit back & chill out drinking wine looking out over the southern coast. I couldn't have thought of a better place to spend our 10th anniversary. Our weather in... More
