We wanted somewhere really 'special' for a birthday night away, and couldn't have chosen better. This beautiful manor house is set in lovely grounds, the Murray family and their friendly staff couldn't have been more welcoming, the house was full of flowers and has a wonderful ambience. There are open fires and comfortable big sofas downstairs, our bedroom had a... More

I celebrated my birthday yesterday and was taken as a treat to Lewtrenchard Manor for the night. What a beautiful place - from the moment we arrived yesterday afternoon til the moment we left this morning everything was just perfect. The room - St Clements was immaculate, pretty and so comfortable. The attention to detail throughout the hotel was enormous and... More

Fabulous couple of nights. The hotel is lovely and the owners and staff go out of their way to make your stay relaxing and perfect. My dog escaped from the hotel and the staff could not have done more to get him back which resulted in a successful outcome after a night of adventure. The food is delicious, the bedrooms... More

We loved our stay here. It was like being a guest in a National Trust property. Extremely friendly service. We shall never forget it and have no hesitation in recommending this stunning venue. We took the opportunity to visit Cothele House and Gardens - beautiful.

We stopped at this amazing little hotel on the way to Cornwall; I'd wanted a B+B but wife didn't like the ones she researched so we went way upmarket and I'm very glad we did. A small rather beautiful country house hotel with Jacobean origins and original rooms and panelling; we stayed in what other places might describe as a... More

This hotel has everything. A great local, beautiful bedrooms, log burning fires in the various lounges, and the most superb food and attentive staff. Both of us being vegetarians we usually get one or two options. We had five options each night and everyone we chose was superb. We have not enjoyed such wonderful meals for many years. I hope they... More

We stayed for two nights in January and had a fantastic time. A lovely room, comfortable and not too hot. All the staff were very friendly and attentive. We ate in the restaurant on both evenings and the food was excellent; a good choice of dishes all beautifully presented and delicious. Not great weather but the gardens were lovely and... More

A special trip for hubby's 60th birthday. We needed total relaxation and that's what it was. We booked a superior room and enjoyed the view overlooking the front gardens. Room was lovely apart from creaking floors and doors. Decor a little outdated but I believe the family have just bought the hotel back and viewing some other rooms could see... More

Stayed at this hotel with a colleague and it is now in my top 5 hotel visits ever! Great rooms, amazing service and a fantastic welcome from the owners Mr and Mrs Murray. Food was outstanding and my colleague said it was his best breakfast in a hotel. The waiter, Jacob was awesome, set up a table in the library... More
