Stayed for one night in February to celebrate my wife's birthday, Welcome was lovely on arrival and it made us feel we were a quest, shown to our room which was of a very high standard with views over the front garden. Food was of a very high standard and all staff were very friendly and professional nothing was to... More

My wife and I visited the manor last night and had a very pleasant time indeed. The welcome was excellent with us truly feeling like a guest rather than a commodity. The room was stunning, with a true sense of the history of the building, without feeling overpowered by its antiquity. Even on a rainy February afternoon the grounds were... More

My wife and I booked at last minute overnight package at the hotel as a early valentine celebration. Despite only giving 5 hours notice they managed to furnish the room with flowers, chocolates and champagne as requested. The staff were extremely friendly and did their utmost to make it a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The food was sublime along with great... More

My partner and I were delighted with our choice. The building is steeped in history, and full of charm. Roaring fires in oak panelled reception rooms create a cosy atmosphere, a welcome respite from the cold outside. The owners provide a guide to the house, which explains amongst other things, the background of the many portraits that hang on the... More

Wonderful location in quiet, rural Devon. Historic building, and rooms, enhanced by numerous open fires. Staff were are excellent - thoughtful, interested, and very efficient. Food, especially dinner, was top class. Value for money was surprisingly good.

Just had one night here for a birthday en-route and had a wonderful stay. The place is a real country house verging on stately home full of interest and antiques. Lovely grounds to safely walk our dog too. The room was huge and lovely views. We ate dinner with the package and could not believe the quality and flavours, the... More

I picked this hotel, as it was close to where I was working the next day. My wife came with me as it was a weekend. Wow, how pleasantly surprised we were with the place. I you want to get away from things (no phone signal, but has wifi) for a romantic night and just chill with a drink in... More

Lewtrenchard Manor seems to be tucked away in the middle of nowhere as it is so silent, only the birds seem noisy! In fact it is only a few miles from the main A30 road. The generous staircase led up to the room I had which was massive, as was the bed in it, with nice views over the countryside.... More

We stayed on New Year's eve for one night only to see in the New Year. Everything, except wines, was included in the price so we had afternoon tea on arrival, a champagne reception with canapes before dinner, a six course dinner, dancing to a fantastic band, champagne and haggis at midnight, breakfast the next day, clay pigeon shooting and...
