Just spent two nights at this beautiful Jacobean manor house. The sense of history is amazing and the grounds are beautiful and well cared for.The room was spacious and comfortable, the service was excellent, and we were made to feel very welcome by the family who own it.A wonderful place for a peaceful stay in beautiful countryside.Would go back there again any time

A very pleasant welcome, the room was spotless and the bathroom extremely large and had been modernised in a very tasteful fashion. The food was of a standard expected from a Michelin two knife and fork restaurant. The service was slow but then all the tables in the two restaurant areas were full. Breakfast service and food quality was well... More

We took a Saturday night break at Lewtrenchard Manor and wished we had signed up for the whole weekend! We arrived in time to have lunch outside in the beautiful gardens, no trouble was spared, crisp white table cloths and sparkling cutlery, five star treatment from the start. Chilled champagne and strawberries were laid out in our room on arrival... More

We returned to Lewtrenchard in August 2015 and both my husband and I said as soon as we settled in, why has it taken us 2 years to return? Great thanks to the Murray family as well as all the staff who without exception looked after us perfectly. This is a place to calm down and relax and leave all... More

Myself and boyfriend recently stayed at this wonderful Jacobean manor house and cannot sing its praises enough! Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, fresh milk instead of those UHT cartons are a welcome change, they even went to the trouble of getting skimmed milk in for me, given that we were only staying 2 nights I thought that... Just perfect. The property has enormous charm. The rooms are of a very high standard. The service is to be applauded (fresh milk on demand!) But quite relaxed. I cannot say enough about the food. The dining experience alone is stunning. In an attempt to find any criticism at all, the formal gardens could have been better tended but nothing... More

This is a stunning hotel, a Jacobean manor house that uses its assets to the greatest advantage. Our room was vast, comfortable, with all you could wish for.. and the restaurant and food outstanding. Perhaps there is not a quieter hotel in the West Country, with not a sound except a trickling fountain, and they even turned that off at... More

Delightful venue for afternoon tea. Delicious sandwiches and truly mouth watering cakes. Would not hesitate to recommend and if there was a downside it was the wasps... But this is English summertime and sitting outside on a sunny afternoon enjoying tea and cakes is pure heaven.

I stay here often when away on business and it's always a treat. The food is delicious, accommodation is comfortable and the staff are great. Of course it helps that the beautiful building itself is in wonderful surroundings. I will continue to return here time and time again.... Thank you.
