We enjoyed lunch here recently. In fact we enjoyed it so much we returned for a night. The food was excellent, both the lunch and the taster menu. The chef seriously knows what he is doing from the delectable canapés onward. Each dish is very carefully thought out and the combination of flavours, textures, presentation and provenance demonstrates this. The... More

My wife and I spent a very relaxing couple of days at the Horseshoe Inn the room was ample for the two day stay, for a longer stay you might wish to request one of the bigger rooms. It was well decorated and clearly kept well. We had evening meals both nighs and the food and service was excellent. If... More

Arrived in late afternoon and made very welcome, given pot of tea and fruit cake in bar, before being taken to our room in a building nearby. The restaurant has 8 rooms in the former village primary school, close to the restaurant. Bedroom was spacious with sumptious bed with goose down duvet. Settee, large flat screen tv and hospitality tray,... More

We unfortunately chose to spend our Saturday evening in this restaurant. We booked the table for 8 p.m. so arrived at 7.30 for a pre dinner drink. At 8.30 p.m. we asked the head waiter what had happened to our table and could we go through. He ushered us through and sat us down. We had previously ordered wine for... More

Now the whole idea of a restaurant with rooms is that you can rest your body after an exquisite meal. At The Horseshoe Inn the food is so good, the tickling of yours taste buds so redefined that if you do leave, you will miss yet another dimension of this place - it's breakfast matched and we slept well. Thank... More

The staff couldn't have been more unobtrusively attentive and informed for our small Birthday group, for a delightful late lunch, linger and tea (and breakfast for 2)! The food lived up very well to its reputation and we appreciated the unsolicited birthday extra touches. I'm not a reviewer but had to add a reassuring counter to the last one - their... More

'Restaurant with rooms' should have been our first clue about this establishment's priorities. We booked a one night stopover on our way to the north of Scotland, and were quite happy to pay a premium price based on reviews on Tripadvisor. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, and home made cake and fresh fruit were very welcome on arrival. Staff were friendly... More

We have just spent 2 nights at the Horseshoe Inn and had an excellent time. We had dinner, bed and breakfast and could not fault anything or anyone at this establishment. The personnel, from the owners to the waitresses, were extremely friendly, the room was comfortable and well equipped and the food was excellent. We would thoroughly recommend this Inn... More

We visited for the food, having heard good things about the restaurant, and enjoyed a 1 night stay for dinner, bed and breakfast to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The restaurant was top class, with amazing food coming from the chef in the kitchen, and we were spoilt from start to finish. Our room was clean and very comfortable, with all... More

We stayed at this 'restaurant with rooms' for three nights and were thoroughly spoiled. Our room in the Horseshoe Lodge was extremely comfortable and it was great to get fresh bottled water, fruit and cake left for us on a daily basis. The food in the Inn was excellent, from tasty canapes through to delicious desserts. It was 'fine dining'... More
