Stayed overnight so that we could enjoy the taster menu in the restaurant with wines. Could not fault the food, the wines or the service, The rooms in the hotel are not enormous but everything you could want or need is to hand (except a bath). The staff are all courteous, attentive and never "in your face". Also the breakfast... More

The Horseshoe has a quiet welcoming ambience for the discerning diner, especially at this time of year. We took a drive out as we didn't want to battle the fray of Christmas and office parties that take place at this time of year. If you are wanting to try different foods their recently appointed new sous Chef won't disappoint. It... More

We spent two nights here with a large group of friends. The food is excellent, of particular note delicious bread and perfectly cooked scallops. The dining room and lounge are large and comfortable and the table settings of cutlery, glasses, etc superb. Service is very good as well. The proprietor has a keen interest in the wine list, which has... More

My husband and I stayed at The Horseshoe Inn for two nights and we ate in the restaurant on both evenings. We were very pleased with our bedroom which although slightly small was clean and tidy. The bathroom was also spotless. The bed was very comfortable and the duvet and pillows lovely and soft. On arriving for dinner we were... More

We enjoyed lunch here recently. In fact we enjoyed it so much we returned for a night. The food was excellent, both the lunch and the taster menu. The chef seriously knows what he is doing from the delectable canapés onward. Each dish is very carefully thought out and the combination of flavours, textures, presentation and provenance demonstrates this. The... More

My wife and I spent a very relaxing couple of days at the Horseshoe Inn the room was ample for the two day stay, for a longer stay you might wish to request one of the bigger rooms. It was well decorated and clearly kept well. We had evening meals both nighs and the food and service was excellent. If... More

Arrived in late afternoon and made very welcome, given pot of tea and fruit cake in bar, before being taken to our room in a building nearby. The restaurant has 8 rooms in the former village primary school, close to the restaurant. Bedroom was spacious with sumptious bed with goose down duvet. Settee, large flat screen tv and hospitality tray,... More

We unfortunately chose to spend our Saturday evening in this restaurant. We booked the table for 8 p.m. so arrived at 7.30 for a pre dinner drink. At 8.30 p.m. we asked the head waiter what had happened to our table and could we go through. He ushered us through and sat us down. We had previously ordered wine for... More

Now the whole idea of a restaurant with rooms is that you can rest your body after an exquisite meal. At The Horseshoe Inn the food is so good, the tickling of yours taste buds so redefined that if you do leave, you will miss yet another dimension of this place - it's breakfast matched and we slept well. Thank... More

The staff couldn't have been more unobtrusively attentive and informed for our small Birthday group, for a delightful late lunch, linger and tea (and breakfast for 2)! The food lived up very well to its reputation and we appreciated the unsolicited birthday extra touches. I'm not a reviewer but had to add a reassuring counter to the last one - their... More
