A large sterile style hotel, with comfortable, warm, smallish rooms. We stayed here for two nights and enjoyed our stay. For the price it lacks certain necessities that you would expect, eg. reasonable wifi in the room, coffee and tea making facilities, toiletries except the basics, The room had a great view over the town and ocean, was clean with... Have a need to get back to nature well it would be worth visiting Stykkisholmur, Iceland. Had a great stay with our FEB group at the "Hotel Stykkisholmur" where I spent 4 days and enjoyed everyone of them completely. The town is small but has lots of things you can do and see plus the surrounding area is beautiful, the... More

Many hotels are pretty average in Iceland, but then, I am guessing they don't have to be special, given the few number of tourists (but that is growing). The one thing I remember about this hotel (included on an OAT trip to Iceland) is that there were no hot eggs at breakfast. We had long days, and sometimes a long... More

Stykkisholmur is, to me, the ideal, charming, sea side town. The hotel was very nice. Free wifi in the lobby, GREAT breakfast (one of the best hotel breakfast packages we had the entire trip), not very busy or noisy. There is plenty of parking and some great views from our room. The elevator is slightly small and seems a little... More

This hotel is ok but that's about it, if your looking just to get your head down for a night this is place to do it. Rooms were ok and breakfast was very very simply. A very basic Hotel, but the Viking beer was very good, try it, made me sleep like a log...

The rooms in the old section of the hotel are very small. There is nowhere to put luggage. And no comfortable place to sit. We tried to change rooms, but the hotel was fully booked. I have seen positive reviews of the rooms in the newer section of the hotel, so make sure you book one of them if possible.... More

Very nice room, Lovely view, good shower room, reasonable breakfast. The thing we didn't like with this place was that it seemed to have a large number of staff, none of which could be even bothered to smile let alone talk to their guests. We thought it was probably under temporary management perhaps? If you stay here, beware that you... More

Stykkisholmur and surroundings are very beutyfull place. It is on north side Snaefells peninsula. Short trip to the many islands in Breidafjordur. And many interresting places. The hote l is average, The rooms are big and bright and the beds are good. Breakfast is good and staff is friendly and wilingly to inform you about the area. And assist you... More

Nothing fancy. Seems oriented to tours. Breakfast buffet is cold with no cooked options. Finding someone when you need help is challenging. No one was ever at the front desk. During our 3-day stay the bathroom water was off for several hours just as I wanted to pop into the shower. I got dressed, went downstairs, and the manager showed... More

This was by far the worst hotel we stayed in during our wonderful Iceland trip. It's a move 'em in and move 'em out kinda of hotel. The breakfast was the worst we had throughout our trip, our room was on the bottom floor overlooking the parking lot!!! We heard buses and cars throughout the night. Also the shower was... More
