We stayed in a two bedroom chalet, each with twin beds and a chair that could be converted into an extra bed. The setting was beautiful with a view of the ocean and the rock formations off the black sandy beach. There were acres of lupins and seabirds nesting in the cliffs behind the chalets- a kind of bird hotel.... more

The room is small, and a little more pricey than some places, but it makes up for all of that with the perfect view. What do you go to Vik for? I went there to find Renisdranger. We drove over night to Vik for the view....and I didn't know where it was and thought we would need to go of... more

We arrived in Vik in awful weather conditions, but our room was not available yet so we spent our time on the internet computer in the reception area (free of charge). After waiting more than two hours it turned out to be that we didn’t have a room in the main building but in one of the five summer cottages next... more

I can't believe the reviews above. I stayed there twice in my 10 day Iceland adventure. After returning home, my friend and I declared Vik to be our favorite experience. The Edda was a nice place very similar to a Red Roof Inn in America. The counter staff was wonderful and gave us extra pillows and towells. She showed us... more

There is nothing to highlight. It was the only available in dozens of miles around with the category of “hotel”. This is the only reason I booked it in the first place. Iceland lacks of tourist infrastructure and it is not yet ready to holiday with style (non on this area at least). Plain, without anything noticeable. Truly uncomfortable twin... more

We reserved for 3 nights here, but thankfully we didn't pay in advance. We went shoulder season and there was only us and another couple in the hotel. At least it was quiet. No one was there when we turned up at about 2pm - the place was deserted. We went and looked in the windows and saw all the... more

After a wonderful (and rare!) sunny and warm day exploring the Glacier Lagoon and Skaftafell park, we arrived in Vik just as the weather started to deteriorate, looking forward to the stay at an Edda Plus Hotel in Vik. Having had enjoyable stays at other standard Edda Hotel so far on our tour of Iceland, we had looked forward to... more

Vik is relatively picturesque and definitely worth a stop to see the black beaches. The hotel is modern but basic. The rooms are small and the bathrooms are minute. Breakfast isn’t great, with little choice, and is served in the reception area. Having said all of this, it’s still probably the best hotel in Vik and is OK for a... more

We stayed one night at the Hotel Edda - Vik. The Hotel was very plain with a private bath in each room, but very serviceable. The rooms were clean. The breakfast buffet was good. We would stay there again as it was a convenient location to Dyrholaey, Skogar and glaciers. more
