Stayed in Vik for one night en route to the east of the country. Had to make a last minute booking and went for this hostel. The staff were accommodating and facilitated us with a private double. It was spotless and, though small, plenty big for the 2 of us. Don't be put off by its shabby exterior. The facilities... More

We arrived at Vik early April and it was snowing, the town was so pretty... we went down to the beach and the contrast of the black sand edged with snow and ice and a rough ocean will most probably stay with me for ever..stunning. We also had a task at finding the hostel, in retrospect maybe it was our... More

This was one of our favorite hostels from our trip around Iceland. Staff were really friendly and welcoming. Location was great with spectacular scenery and beaches. Value was good when comparing within Iceland. Would definitely recommend to anyone passing through to stay at least one night. Comfortable communal space is slightly limited, but atmosphere means it is easy to get... More

Maybe it was the fresh snow which had fallen or maybe it was The Northern Lights we saw outside the hostel but this has been our favourite place to stay ever. The welcome was warm, the rooms cosy and with character. It was well signposted and i cannot see how other reviewers claim it was hard to find. The hostel... More

We stayed in a few guesthouses and hostels during our travels along the South ring-road in January. This was by far the best we stayed in. We came back a second time. The beds were comfy. The communal area was cosy (in a good way!). The kitchen was plenty well equipped. The location fantastic (totally not difficult to find!). The... More

Situated perfectly on the top of the village overlooking everything and at the foot of the mountain the hostel was fairly quiet while we were there. Everyone was smiles and answers and recommendations and advice and all sorts. The rooms were very clean and nice, beds were all located perfectly that you weren't tripping over people or things and every... More

Arriving quite late but still inside the normal working hours, the receptionist was really nice. The hostel looks like a normal house and the reception has a cozy sofa and TV. Our room was really cute on top floor. Kitchen, toilet, dinning room, all were very functional and with plenty of space. The staff was young and kind. Many attractions... More

The hostel was busy even in January but not a loud or party atmosphere. There are 3 levels in the hostel and we stayed on the bottom. The beds were pretty comfortable but the hostel could use more bathrooms. If you are staying here during the winter you should definitely get the breakfast because nothing else is open in the... Stayed here 2 nights Dec 2012. Vik is a small village and the person in the petrol station gave us quick and easy directions. It is at the very end of the road up the hill. Friendly knowledgable staff. Built in layers - so there are different levels. Kitchen well stocked with utensils. Dining room large and looks out on... More

Loved this hostel in the village of Vik iMrydal in Iceland. Very homely. The living room and kitchen feels like you're at home. Busy all year round. 6 months advance booking required especially in summer.
