Overall a poisitive expirience. We stayed there for about 3 days in winter. The hostel was almost fully occupied. The checkin was a bit unconventional as there was nobody there to check us in and only notes on the room-doors indicated where we could sleep. The staff is relaxed but helpful and the breakfast was suprisingly good with fresh eggs... More

The Nordur-Vik hostel was not a great experience for the two nights spent here. The location of the hostel is somewhat difficult to find as it is down a gravel road. Once there, the reception area is small and the receptionist working there did not seem that attentive. The rooms were an OK size, but the Wifi does not work... More

We travelled as a camera club group on a 7 night trip around Iceland staying in a different hostel each night, and had our fifth night here. We were made to feel very welcome, the hostel was clean and modern. Breakfast was great. We had a mix of rooms - everyone was happy. Plenty of restaurants/supermarkets/shops in Vik. However the... We stayed one night here- helpful receptionist, average room, clean bathroom.( but there's only 2 bathroom in 2 floors) The only thing I didn't like is the internet was not really working- so we couldn't really arrange our plan.

This place is incredibly small. Only a few rooms and only one dorm room, where we stayed. Shoes must be taken off at the door. The kitchen made the place kind of smell for the rest of the night, which was a minor problem compared to the fact that everyone was up talking until around 1 am. They seemed to... More

We stayed one night in Nordur Vik Youth Hostel while on the chase for the northern lights. It is behind the Surdur- Vik Restaurant to your left (follow the dirk road). The hostel itself feels more homey. We were asked to remove our shoes upon entering reception (I think this help to keep the place clean). We arrive late afternoon... More

Kind of hard to find.. Stayed 2 nights, the first was nice. Not many people. Place was quiet and friendly. Second time the place was full and very loud. A big group including people who work at the hostel were extremely loud until past 2am and made it impossible to sleep in such a small place where the sounds echoed... More

This quaint hostel is located at the edge of town in a picturesque setting. The view of the mountains cannot be beat. I loved the atmosphere of the hostel — very comfortable and cozy, especially the common area. The kitchen was big enough and had all the tools we needed, but there weren't enough bathrooms for the number of guests... More

I have been last september in that hostel and it was correct. I was in a 4 junks room just in front of the main door, downstairs. It is a charmy place but, in my opinion, there is no plenty space if the hostel is full. For example the kitchen is so small that there is no space for more... More

Plus side: the view and the bulding. It's very near to the "city center" which is pretty unexistant like most of icelandic cities. Minus side: the place looks old, not like everything is old but like it's been furnished by a very old person. the common areas are good but they miss a spark. the rooms with 6 beds were... More
