A delightful setting this traditional hotel is a perfect fit for travellers staying for one or two nights. Bedrooms warm, spacious with good en suite facilities (showers). Service reasonable if not a little distant, food was fine, simple but hearty. The hotel is located on near Reynishverfi Beach so it is well placed. It is quiet and sits alone on the... More

This is a quiet hotel on a hill a few miles outside Vik. There were very few people there the night we stayed (late September), so it was almost eerily quiet. The front desk staffer was kind and patient with our various requests (extra pillows, printing tour confirmations, etc.). The room was fine -- basic but comfortable, private bath, free... More

The building looks long and low, traditional Icelandic, not pictorials maybe, but very efficient. The rooms are large, clean and very comfortable, nice bathroom, good beds. The open view from the windows was nice. Dinner was very tasty and excellent breakfast buffet. Most of the staff came from Poland, they were helpful and they did everything to make our stay... More

This hotel looks doesn't look at all attractive as you drive up the hill towards it being, looking more like a series of warehouses. However the rooms in the annex where we were sleeping are large, well furnished and comfortable. The breakfast was fine. However, the best thing abut this hotel is its location within easy drive of Vik for... More

Spent one night in this hotel and delighted to see it has expanded and upgraded since our last visit. We were housed in one of the newer cabin style rooms which was simply furnished Scandinavian style. Everything clean and modern with spectacular views. The breakfast room was large and a little impersonal, however there was a good choice of food... More

A tourist hotel with traditional low buildings set high above the Dyrholaey headland. A walk behind the hotel gives you great views in land. A very well organised hotel providing a well supplied breakfast buffet and a set evening meal with a vegetarian option. The bedrooms were simply furnished but large and comfortable. The beds were also very comfotable. We... More

I went on a photo safari for 6 days and we stopped over for three nights here. wonderful views for photography and placed very well for all you photo enthusiasts. They get lots of groups staying for one or two nights and cope with these changeovers extremely well. The staff don't smile too much but I don't blame them -... More

This hotel is little more than a jumped up hostel run by cheap labour from abroad. We were out of season, so it was quiet and the vast cafeteria style dining room was mostly roped off. There was very little choice for dinner and nothing worth remembering at breakfast. However the room was clean and serviceable.

A good, functional and friendly hotel with good food and service. Good clean bathrooms, great evening meals and the rooms have lots of space and are spotlessly clean. The location is excellent with access to all the geological splendours of the south coast.
