This hotel is little more than a jumped up hostel run by cheap labour from abroad. We were out of season, so it was quiet and the vast cafeteria style dining room was mostly roped off. There was very little choice for dinner and nothing worth remembering at breakfast. However the room was clean and serviceable.

Stayed at this hotel in September 2013. Was there one night, then left and came back two days later and stayed another night. Loved my room, had a shower and hot water. The room was nice and the view was great. I was especially appreciative of the hotel staff and especially the manager who was very helpful and accommodating. I... More

The man at reception was very nice, and really went out of his way to help us. In a very cute, maybe a little small, but nice atmosphere. We ate at the hotel restaurant dinner, which was the most expensive and delicious. Breakfast was a wide range of options and very delicious. Somewhat isolated location, but that suited us, just... This hotel was one of many other hotels/guesthouses booked for us by Icelandic farm Holidays and for me this was the worst of the lot in the terms of experience. The good things were that the view from the front of the hotel was very good and we could escape to Vik for a meal. The hotel is a long... More

The hotel is family run, but almost all staff are from Poland or Russia. This is cheaper for the owners but when you go to Iceland you want to meet the lokals. In this case you get nice service without getting the impression of really staying in the "Saga Island". The rooms are clean, the beds are good but there... More

Many of the farmers in Iceland have converted part of their land to hotels. In this case, there is an older wing and a newer one. We stayed in the newer wing and found the rooms large and clean and everything working as expected. Both the front and back side of this wing have views - one side a stunning... More

We needed two rooms in the south of Iceland. I had a difficult time finding a hotel with two rooms. Hotel Dyrholaey had them. It made a good base for exploring the south of Iceland. The rooms are quite large and modern. The overall facility was of average grade with such things as room locks that you had to remember... More

My friend and I stayed here on our first night in Iceland after a long transatlantic flight and a long, fun day adventuring through southern Iceland. It had been raining all day,but we had still packed a lot of action into it, wanting to make the most of our time. We got to the hotel around 7pm and were delighted... More
