We stayed with Ave for two days in mid-December. Ave prepared breakfast for us each morning (including freshly-baked bread and pancakes), a beautiful spread, along with lively conversation about the surrounding areas (volcano stories from locals are fascinating!). The bed might be the most comfortable I have ever had the pleasure of sleeping in, and certainly rivals "normal" hotels. Large... More

Charming guesthouse in Vik. Our room was on the bottom floor, beside the kitchen. It was spacious and comfy, large bathroom, and wide open window that allowed for a gorgeous morning horizon of exploding yellows and oranges. Wifi was spotty but worked in and out. We didn't chat much our host, but she was lovely and very accommodating, and breakfast... More

The family are lovely, they all came and introduced themselves on my first night. The house/barn building doesn't look much on the outside, but when you get inside, you are smacked in the face with a massive sense of "home" and I instantly relaxed. The beds and pillows were very VERY comfortable. The shower was a REAL power shower. (Even... More

Large, comfortable rooms. Delicious breakfast and afternoon goodies ! Very friendly folks who are very helpful in every way possible, which especially showed when they assisted us in getting a flat tire fixed on a Sunday ! We will be forever grateful for this. Great location for visiting black beach and seeing puffins. Many great restaurants in both directions on... More

This little cottage is a home away from home. The family who own it are friendly and welcoming, and the cottage is cosy and beautifully decorated. We used the kitchen to cook our own dinner, and in the morning were greeted by Eva and a wonderful home cooked breakfast including home baked bread and pancakes. Eva even made me some... More

The guesthouse is very close to the sea, right off the main road, when driving to Vik. From the outside it looks like all houses in rural Iceland but inside it is an incredible cosy house, with a lovely kitchen and living area - the kitchen has all possible amenities, they provide tea and cake, as well as all you... We only stayed for one night, but wished we could have had longer. The location is great, just down the road from the famous black beach and splendidly isolated - you really get a feel for being out in the countryside! Keep in mind that the nearest restaurants are around 15 minutes' drive away in Vik though, so you definitely... More

We loved this B&B and were greeted warmly with tea and cake. Wonderful location, AMAZING breakfast, most beautiful bedroom we stayed in on our trip around Iceland. Didn't even mind that we had to share a bathroom.

Very nice room with own sink. Toilet and shower is shared with three other rooms which is normally no problem but we had some guests who took their sweet time in the morning. It's about 15mins before Vik but beautifully placed near the beach and a little lookout point. Breakfast was in the common room with the other guests which... More

I highly recommend staying at GGG. The owners and house manager are very helpful and gracious. The rooms are clean and the space is beautiful. Sites nearby include waterfalls, Skogafoss (great hiking at the top) and Seljalandsfoss (walk behind the waterfall). Nearby Vik beach and stacks/arch also deserve time. I'd recommend spending at least 2 full days in this area... More
