Look: Vik will be destroyed any day now. Meanwhile, the Hofdabrekka is a lovely place to stay. Easy parking, clean sheets and whatnot… Great breakfast. I wanted to tell the lady at the front desk that

From the moment I contacted them I found the warm welcome atmosphere from the staff that you look for when travelling away from home. Located few km. from the nearest town has disadvantage for those that want to walk around town but for those that like to be in the quiet countryside, this is the place. The rooms were clean... More

The first appearance might be deceiving and often is. Inside the buildings there are comfortable rooms decorated in knotty pine paneling with comfortable beds and a good WIFI. Outside it was rainy and windy. The staff was very helpful. Breakfast was hearty including make it yourself waffles which always involves pouring too much batter into the iron. Even in cold... More

We stayed here after hiking Fimmvordehals - we wanted a hot shower, a hot pot, and a soft bed. We got all three. The highlight was the hot pot for sure, beautifully situated outdoors, and a great place to swap travel tips with other guests. You can have a drink there if you like too. The room we had (#39)... We chose this because it was one of the more affordable options between Vik and Skaftafell Park, and we enjoyed the onsite hot pots (with a drink from the bar in hand, gazing out at the sea). The dinner and breakfast were excellent, and the rooms were comfortable enough. The only downside to this place is that it's built for... More

Hotel Hofdabrekka is a good place to stop along the east coast. The hotel staff is helpful and pleasant, the breakfast brunch is a fantastic, filling and tasty way to start the day and the spa tub and sauna are relaxing. The room was clean and had the conveniences you'd expect. However the room was a little musty with wood... More

Nice hotel a few kilometers out of the town Vik. Good rooms. A beautiful hottub. A member of staff even asked us if we would like to have a drink there. I can't hardly remember a better place to have been drinking my beer after a good day of hiking. The view from the hottub was phenomenal. They serve a... More

Front desk was friendly and informative. Even though our room was facing the road it was still so quiet and we still had a great view of the hills and landscape. The new hot tub is crazy clean and has showers and and change rooms right next to it so you don't have to make a mad dash from your... More

The rooms in the Hotel Hofdabrekka are scattered around several different buildings and that can be a little inconvenient as you must go outside to get to the restaurant, but you don't go to Iceland to stay indoors in the warm! The rooms were open, light and modern; generally quite nice however lacked a duvet and the pillow was awfully... More

Most of the hotels on our trip in iceland had super nice down comforters. This hotel had poly covered stiff covers and horrible pillows. Other than that a standard breakfast that was good and pretty decent wifi
