I didn't want to stay in Vik since I wanted something more remote on the way to Hofn. This place was very cozy. It isn't fancy, but it is warm, cozy, and has steaming hot showers. It is a combination motel/hostel in the sense that there is a shared living room and then an indoor hallway of doors. We didn't... More

Recently stayed at the Hotel Hofdabrekka for a 3 day hiking excursion in southern and southeastern Iceland. Rooms were clean and spacious and modern. Modest overall but perfect for a good night's rest before a day of hiking or trekking. Lots of connections with local tour guides and very convenient location/proximity to almost all of the sites in the area.... More

the hotel is set away from the town of Vik. The rooms are very clean sizable and modern. The meals are good and the staff very polite and helpful. My only gripe was that the hot tub was too cold to go into. OK it's the middle of November, but still. Turn it up guys. Recommend anyone to stay there.

The room is nice. We had a wonderful sleep and a lovely breakfast the next morning. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We got a warm welcome when we checked-in and they are always happy to answer my questions about Iceland. We are happy to find this nice place to stay. Great value for money!

This was far and a way the best hotel experience we had in Iceland. Lovely staff, good rooms, excellent food, facilities. We checked in quickly, relaxed in our room, enjoyed the bar, had a lovely meal and indulged in the Geothermal Bath and Sauna. All around a lovely relaxing night.

Loved this hotel. First place we stayed in Iceland and it was worth it. Enjoyed the outside hot tub, just sitting in the hot water and cold air made me feel great. The restaurant was very nice and tasty. Breakfast is well worth it. Lovely location, and very comfortable.

We are really budget traveller but that's not an easy task in Iceland . This was the most expensive hotel of our trip but we couldn't fault it. Amazing setting , good quality rooms well heated. You do need a coat to get to the restaurant as the hotel is laid out in more of a motel style and you... More

This hotel was in a beautiful setting just off the Ring Road near Vik. The high ceiling in our room made my wife feel like a queen. The breakfast was adequate but nothing special. P.S. "ugaworldtraveler" is just a crab.

He spent 1 night in this hotel in July 2014. The room was spacious and clean. The breakfast was amazing. I would recommend this hotel. Also, there was a hot tub and sauna which were clean and very relaxing. THe room was located in the South bulding and was very quiet.

The hotel, like many in Iceland, caters to the large tour companies. The rooms are unitarian and well worn. The bed was so soft I could hardly stand the next day. We went to the restaurant for diner. All they were offering was the buffet, which was picked over and not being replenished. The dinning room was full of the... More
