Really, really good by any standard. Big, bright clean room with a big king size bed. Decent bathroom with a proper shower and an inexpensive dinner if local fish home cooked. Excellent discrete and friendly service too. And the free wifi really worked. Why can't all hotels be like this ? How it should be done. Stay here if you... More

A great hotel - free coffee on tap, superb spacious elegant Scandanavian rooms, excellent breakfast and fine home cooked evening meals. Staff very friendly. Great views from the dining room. Lava for floors and the countryside round about is amazing, particularly the coast near Vik.

We travelled around the ring road for a week, staying at different (and extremely overpriced) hotels. Volcano was undoubtedly the best one. Beautiful spacious tastefully decorated rooms, ultra friendly staff (very rare in Iceland) and super nice breakfast. Do not think twice, just book this hotel. It might be expensive, but when you compare with other hotels in Iceland, the... More

Having travelled in Iceland in July 2014, we had the opportunity to compare some B&B, guesthouses and hotels. Here the review of Hotel Volcano. - Style and comfort: a rather little hotel in a recent building, design and furniture are modern - Surroundings, quietness: no special view, but quiet - Breakfast: good buffet - Dinner: menu of the day can... We stayed two nights in early June in the family room (2 adults, 2 teens) and the room was well-appointed and very clean. More importantly, my husband had a health issue that needed attention and Johann handled the call to the medical personnel and was able to arrange for the nurse practitioner to see him in the Vik clinic after... Great location, plenty to see and close to the sea and cliffs where you can see puffins at the right time of the year. Lovely rooms with countryside views and although a limited menu the food was fantastic.

Stayed here for a few nights last summer. The hotel was lovely, rooms well-furnished and spotlessly clean. We found the the staff really helpful and attentive. We booked for dinner and the food was melt-in-the mouth delicious (as were the breakfasts !) Situated only a few minutes West of Vik this is a really excellent base for exploring the South... More

This hotel was recommended to me by a friend on cruise critic. It is a modern, stylish boutique hotel and we loved every minute of it. We had a family suite with a queen bed, couch, pack and play for the baby and a twin bed for our daughter. Everything was clean and beautiful. The staff was wonderful...Margaret, Johann and... More

We stayed two nights in July with two boys - aged 10 and 11. Everything was perfect and the owners and staff took very good care of us - this place is highly recommended! The rooms were bright and clean, and everything was to the highest standard.
