Great puffin viewing on the cliffs outside Vik. Very good restaurants. Nice location for the guest house. Pretty farm with the typical animals and herd dogs. Rooms were standard guesthouse, clean comfortable and quiet. Dinner is served, looked like a good option but we went into town to see the puffins and ate there. Very friendly helpful innkeepers.

We stayed here for only one night and found it convenient for Vik and Dyrholaey. Be aware that it's on a working farm at the end of a dirt track that has many ridges and potholes - we managed it in a class A hire car but it was an uncomfortable experience! Expensive compared to the same standard of accommodation... More

I have been traveling to Iceland for the past several years just for photography and I stumbled upon Guesthouse Steig. The location is very convenient to Vik and Dyraholaey. It's on a beautiful working farm about 15 minutes from the center of Vik, which can get crowded. The rooms feel cozy and homey, and it's evident the guesthouse is newly... More

Definitely not recommended. The welcome from the host was terrible. We agreed on the phone we could have had a dinner at the hotel, but then they changed their mind as "it was too late" (20.30). Our expectations were very high, as this was the most expensive guesthouse we booked in our trip, and it is sincerely not worth the... More

We stayed here one night while visiting the southern coast of Iceland. Our (ensuite) room was extremely clean and made for a comfortable night of slumber. WiFi was essentially non-existent in our room although it is possible to use the guesthouse-computer in the lobby area until 10ish at night (hours were posted). Breakfast seemed a bit "light" but truth be... More

Stayed there with the whole family. Kids loved the animals around the place and we enjoyed the scenery. Very friendly staff. Rooms are very modern and very clean, with nice bathrooms. Hiked up the hill behind the guesthouse for a great view of the surroundings.

I have stayed at several small guesthouses and inns in Iceland and this one had a very professional, almost corporate, feel. The rooms even opened with credit card-like "keys" ! The property was spotlessly clean and my room was a good size. Breakfast served in the morning offered a variety of foods and drink. My only complaint is that the... More

Wow - this was one of our top 2 places we stayed in while visiting Iceland (7 nights stay). Our host was accommodating, kind & sweet. The room was very nice (w/ shared bathroom to save money), the bed VERY comfortable and shared bathroom very clean. The breakfast was the usual fare of bread, cereals, meats and cheese, plus fresh... The rooms are decorated like a lovely comfortable home, not a hotel. The fixtures are new and clean, the service was great, the staff very friendly and welcoming. We were pleasantly surprised to have dinner served since that was not expected and although the menu was limited, the food was quite good. We would definitely recommend this guesthouse to those... This guesthouse was wonderful. Nice rooms, a big dining room for breakfast and a separate kitchen where you could cook your own food, keep food in a refrigerator, and eat at the table. A comfortable living room was also nice for lounging on the sofa and catching a show on TV. The entire place was remarkably clean--not a spot of... More
