This hotel feels like the middle of nowhere near the ocean! Beautiful surroundings. We got our room upgraded which was lovely and had dinner, which although fairly expensive, was great. Lovely hosts and breakfast - ask about the paintings!

One night stay here on January 2nd. We stayed in a lovely hut which had several rooms with 1 to 3 twin sized beds as well as a loft. Bedding and towels were clean and comfortable. Breakfast included more substantial food than all of the other places we stayed. We were only here in the dark so we didn't experience... More

Firstly a beautiful location. Very remote with lovely views of the ocean, farmland and the snow covered mountains. The place appeared to have been recently renovated. The rooms were nice; ours had a nice view of the mountains and the sea. The bathrooms was a good size and in good order. Bedding and towels were nice and clean. Room was... More

We stayed at Guesthouse Vellir for one night in September. This is a fairly newly renovated establishment, the rooms are of good standard and the breakfast was excellent. The best sellingpoint of Vellir is the view, which is gorgeous, as well as the quaint and quiet farmyard feeling you get with nearby grazing sheep. I recommend stopping here if you... More

We stayed 2 nights at Guesthouse Vellir, on our 2 weeks trip around iceland. We were very pleased with our choice of this guesthouse and enjoyed our stay. When we checked in we were told that we were in one of the "holiday cottages", not the hotel, which sounded great but actually meant that we were in a scruffy hut away from the main hotel. Our first concern was the appearance of the cottage from the parking space. The door was actually round the back, and the front... More

This is a small not fancy, but new, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was well equipped. There were toys for children. The driveway is a bit rough. The view is great. It is nice and quiet and the restaurant is more like a big farmhouse kitchen. The family is preparing the meal while you watch and the food was delicious.... More

I really enjoyed this guesthouse. The room was a good size with nice big windows with a picture perfect view of the sunset (that lasts until midnight!). The guesthouse serves dinner with a reservation and was very willing to meet dietary preferences. I'd recommend it for friends.
