We stayed here with a group. Our room was nice, though spartan. It was clean, comfortable and had a wonderful walk in shower with lots of water pressure. It also had a pot for coffee and tea. The lobby and the outside of the hotel is so plain, you might bypass this place. That would be too bad. It is... More

Me and my famly had a nice time. It was charming hotel with heart. I dont think it looks great from the outside but inside it was very nice. We stayed in one of the new rooms and they look great. It has a nice restaurant that you have to try.

Absolutely loved our stay in this hotel. Our room was spacious and very nicely decorated with a lovely view on the city center. Loved the clearly new shower. Moreover the bathroom was very clean. Staff was very friendly. The day we left, we were still in our room getting ready, when the cleaning crew entered. Afterwards when we checked out... More

We were a couple staying here for one night, and even though the hotell looks sort of worn from the outside, inside it is very nice. The room had a great view, a comfotable bed and a very nice bathroom. The staff was very polite and helpful as well. And the best part about the hotel is the extremely good... More

We stayed here for two nights, and I fell completely in love with Heimaey, which has a very retro feeling compared to the rest of mainland Iceland (or the parts that I saw in the West, South, and Southeast). The hotel had mixed rooms, admittedly, and we lucked out and got one of the NEW rooms which is pretty make-it-or-break-it... More

Here with a tour and very pleased. Room is neat and clean with a Scandinavian feel. I have a corner room with great windows. Beds are comfortable with comforter encased in white, pressed cotton duvet. Front desk staff pleasant and greets you every time they see you. Restaurant staff is also charming. The chef appears in the restaurant to check... More

Recently refurbiished, this centrally located hotel is a very good base from which to explore Heimaey. So it is a pity that in the upgrading the owners allowed some design faults in the en-suite bathroom. In the bathroom adjacent to the room I occupied, the very flimsy thin plastic toilet seat had broken from its hinges, a bracket at the... More

I had room 309 which had great views of the town and the volcano. It has a door to a balcony which is is also accessible from the hallway. I never saw anyone on it, though. The room is in the “old” section of the hotel, but it was nicely appointed. Big, flat-screen TV, Scandinavian-designed furniture, including a desk and... More

During my trip to Iceland last month, my friend and I stayed at this hotel and hostel the first night we got into Iceland. We actually stayed in the hostel portion and the room was very comfy. It was tucked away in the corner wiith two single beds and enough room to set down our things. I would recommend paying... More
