It took us some time to find the hotel, as, when we arrived at the listed address, we took it for a house. We hen phoned the manager and he came over to greet us. The interior is nice, modern, very clean. The studio was clean, roomy and comfortable, with a small kitchen and private bathroom. Breakwast wasn't that great;... More

The outside is discret, but the inside is really charming with paintings, room/studio fully equipped, with lot of windows. The owner is super nice, and make everything to serve you. Really good and generous breakfast. The location is perfect, just near the ferry station.

I made my reservations via email and booked 2 rooms for our family of 5- we arrived on the early ferry (book in advance- super easy) and Johnson, our host, was kind enough to offer us breakfast, which was great! Our rooms weren't ready but he was happy to let us leave our bags there while we explored. We had... More

The studio was dirty: you can see nothing from the windows as they are extremely dirty but it's understandable because of the weather conditions... But! brown spots on the bed sheets, dust everywhere, very dirty fridge with the rest of food from previous guests, generally dirty kitchen, the towels were not white anymore but grey, blood on the radiator in... We had booked a room through the hotel manager Thorstur a few months ahead of our stay. We confirmed twice that we had the room about a two weeks before arriving on Haimaey Island. We never received any confirmation number. Finally, one week before our arrival, Thorstur sends us an e-mail saying that he has no rooms because they are... More

I always prefer small apartments or studios, if I can get them the same price or even cheaper than hotel rooms. To have a kitchenette with basic utensils, a sitting area and some private space makes all the difference for me when traveling. Hotel Eyjar was therefore the ideal place the stay. And the location is really nice, just by the harbour,... More

Beautiful rooms, apartments and private rooms. You can also book a bunk bed. Everything is brand new and very clean and comfy. There is an excellent restaurant at the ground floor that you can´t miss.

We had booked to stay at Hotel Eyjar for 5 nights in July 2012. When we got there (at 8am in the morning) we were met by the owner who was very friendly but explained that we were unable to stay there. They had a large fire last November and a lot of the building was destroyed (no-one was hurt... More

The owner was a great host , he helped us out multiple times. The restaurants in the area are extremely expensive, having a kitchenette and supermarket nearby is nice option. Perfect location near the port. Just made our trip that more special at the Westman Islands

We recently stayed in the Hotel Eyjar unexpectedly. We were on a day tour to the Westmann Islands and the airport was fogged in, so we had to stay overnight and catch the ferry out the next day. The hotel accommodated us ( and the rest of the tour group) at short notice. We are a family of four and... More
