We have booked for a twin room in out way around Route 1 to visit this little village. The main building was under refurbishment so they gave us a luxury 2 bedroom apartment for the both of us for the same price with all the facilities you may need or imagine for the same price. I understand this is not... More

Clean, great staff, and a good location. We were here in winter so a lot of the town was closed, but I can't imagine a better value for location and cleanliness in the area. A+ hostel with great views.

The Post hostel is very clean, had a well stocked kitchen, and was very easy to find. They had bikes that we could ride around town on. We stayed there for one night, and since there was only one other guest there (who we hung out with), we basically had the entire place to ourselves. The view from the hostel/our... More

There are not many choices of non-luxury accommodation in Seydisfjodur. Post hostel served our purpose well for a good night's sleep. It's a single floor of four or five rooms. The host was friendly and came over to arrange things when one called her using the inhouse phone. There was no breakfast but a well-equipped pantry was free for use... More

This hotel wasn't my favorite in Iceland, but I can't say I have any major complaints, either. It's not the most inviting or cheery place, but the rooms do have a nice view over the fjord. Rooms are basic and cost a bit less than the more expensive hotel on the other side of town. I slept well here and... More

Seydisfjordur turned out to be our favorite place in Iceland. And the Post Hostel was great! It was clean and had great views of Seydisfjordur. Right next to the fjord, where we saw Minke whales jumping one morning. Great value! Kitches was well stocked too.

We didn't actually stayed at the hostel but the apartment under the same owner. It was one of the top apartment we stayed in Iceland and we stayed in some pretty dam awesome apartments. The apartment was fairly close to the hostel itself and it rent out by the hostel's family(?) that lives just above (over?) it. The apartment was... More

Well located in the town and a nice place to stay. I only had an overnight stop here. The town itself isn't of great interest but the drive across from Egilsstadir is fabulous. Nobody was there when I arrived but a call on the inhouse phone got the owner there in a couple of minutes. My room had my name... More

No one was there when we arrived, but we called the number at the desk and the lady who answered was very kind. We had booked one room for four of us, and since it was a very quiet week, she told us we could have two rooms at no extra charge. That was a lovely surprise for each couple... More

Must admit that the building exterior & entrance does not look very enticing, but once carrying our luggage up the stairs were glad to see that there's a much nicer feel where the rooms are. The setting is probably the stand out feature of this place, near the water & with views of mountains and a waterfall from our room,... More
