Two nights at the Hilton with the most spectacular view - it was a pleasure. All the usual things were very good and you could even arrange your different tours in the travel centre in the lobby. There is a 20 minutes walk from the city (the free shuttle service did not run that frequently) but if you want a... more

I stayed at the Nordica for 4 nights. The hotel is owned by Icelandair Hotels, which operates a chain of great hotels around the country, but is operated by Hilton Corp. The hotel is sleek and modern, yet comfortable and evocative of Scandinavian style. What goes for the best Hilton hotels goes for the Nordica: cleanliness, ease, good sized rooms,... more

Fantastic hotel service was next to none. If you get the opportunity to upgrade its worth doing, we stayed in the an executive suite giving us access to the lounge and Spa area free of charge. The booking facilities for trips within the hotel were helpful, we went on several trips with Iceland Adventures, snow mobiling on a glacier, four... more

Reception/Cociergerie : Always charming and helpful. Room: well equipped, comfortable, good size, lots of light, quiet (at rear). Front rooms may be noisier as dual carriageway road leading into centre is outside hotel. Breakfasts: excellent - well worth the extra sum I had to pay (approx £12 per breakfast) as on room only basis. Vox Bistro - not used -very... more

Based on our itinerary, my wife and I stayed at four different hotels in Western Iceland over the course of a week in early June 2009. The Nordica was by far the best accommodation experience. Maybe it was the fact that both the Dalai Lama and the Icelandic National Soccer team were fellow guests during our visit, but I sense... more

The hotel itself was really large, and the restaurant, bar and spa services were more than adequate. However, the reception staff and bartenders did not seem to be in the mood for chatting and reccomendations. There is a travel desk in the lobby, though, and staff here were much more willing to help and talk about things in general. There... more

Rooms: Very clean. Our view was of the parking lot - not too inspiring, but we were out a lot. A note of caution: I had a few small, inexpensive items stolen from my make-up bag. Perhaps a klepto on staff? Someone who likes Aveda? We had been locking up our valuables in the in-room safe, but it's worth putting... more

The Nordica in a nutshell. A 2km walk from the city (they have a shuttle bus if you're lazy - but then of course, Iceland isn't for you). Fantastic, but limited restaurant (the Langostine soup is the best we've ever had!). Small, stylish rooms. Nice staff, quiet, business-like atmosphere. You have to pay a fair amount for the spa/gym so... more

We visited Iceland as part of an awards trip from work. This was our forst trip to Iceland, and the staff was very helpful with information. The food in VOX was excellent, and the breakfast buffet is not to be missed...just make sure you plan on paying for it, because EVERYTHING is expensive in Iceland. The rooms were immaculate and... more

I stayed at the Hilton as part of an Icelandair package, and it was almost perfect. Sorry, but I'll mention the downsides first. Several reviewers said the hotel was a 15 minute walk to the center of Reykjavik. Perhaps for a marathon runner. It wasn't a nice walk either, as it was on a busy, unglamorous street most of the... more
