The room at first floor was simple but clean and enough agreable. The common bathroom was ok . The house is not in the city center but at 20 min walking distance. The breakfast was simple but the food enough. The staff was extremly kind and helpfull. Wi-Fi free. A good compromise quality/price

I do not live in alba guesthouse but lived nearby in a residential apartment. I hired a tour bus that would only pick me up at alba guesthouse. As it was very cold outside around subzero degrees, I thought I could try waiting in the lobby of alba guesthouse while waiting for the bus. I rang the doorbell and was... More

Hi Joycee I am the owner of Alba Guesthouse and I met you when you came here. I am sorry if you thought I was implying that your stay here in Iceland was illegal. What I said to you was that if the Bus Company was not willing to pick you up at the place you were staying, it was... More

I spent 2 nights at Alba Guesthouse. My boyfriend and I chose a double bedroom, which was very clean and cosy. The breakfast is very good, especially because of the excellent freshly baked bread. The guesthouse is located 15 mins walking from the center of Reykjavik and it is not a big deal crossing the highway, as you have a... More

I stayed to Alba with two friends for two night before walking the hiking trail of Thorsmork-Landmannalaugar and for one night with one friend after the trail. The rooms are simple and clean, the shared bathrooms very clean also. Breakfast is buffet-stile and offers a wide selection of fruit, juice and ham. Special mention to the freshly baked bread! Alba... More

Being very far from anywhere other than Greenland, Iceland is an enchanting but expensive country, so we were delighted to find a decently located, decently priced guesthouse. Pleasant and helpful owners. Shoes-off policy. Simple rooms. Buffet breakfast. WiFi is free, but available in public area.

The Guesthouse staff are really friendly and helped us with any questions we asked, (even printed out our boarding passes for our flight home) beds are super comfy and rooms are quiet, its a walk-able distance from the attractions in the capital but I recommend renting a car from the near by SAD cars, you can get a car there... The plane left Copenhagen late, so we landed late. It was raining in Reykjavik, but we got the Gray Line bus. We arrived shortly before 11 pm, but were pleasantly greeted. We were supposed to share a triple room, but instead were given a single and a double for the same price. It was a bit chilly in my basement... More

We have to find some place to stay in Reykjavik after we have felt to the river. We were welcomed by a owner. We stayed in private 3 bed room, with comfortable beds and all that you may need. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise as it might be hard to find rather big choice for included breakfast. Owner was very... More

I have mixed feelings with this guesthouse, but I think it can be a fine place if you take some things into consideration. We were welcomed by a lady who was a bit grumpy and that didn’t make us feel very welcome. We had possibly the smallest room in the whole guesthouse which had very thin walls, other rooms that...
