Basic guest house style in a fantastic location right opposite the cathedral. Requested to move room due to road noise but second room offered was tiny, so stayed put, noise subsided in the evening. Nice continental breakfast included. Loki restaurant next door is fantastic. Great value for Reykjavik.

If....like us....you're on a self-drive trip round Iceland....and this is your first stop in Reykjavik....you'll be pleased you booked Sunna guesthouse. Reykjavik's not an easy place to navigate round....but the one place you can always find is Hallgrímskirkja....the iconic cathedral....which means you can always find Sunna guesthouse because it's just across the road. The guesthouse is modern, smart and clean.... More

My brother and I took my son for his high school graduation to iceland where most of the trip was spent in an r.v. We were very pleased with our stay at guesthouse sunna which was for our last 3 nights before heading home. Three people is a difficult number with which to find a room and we were happy... More

This is very well located for walking to so many attractions. The breakfast is excellent and the shared bathrooms are clean but there could be more of them. The small kitchen in every "suit of rooms" is great for families. I agree with others who noted the high noise level. And the beds were way too soft and lumpy for... More

Yes, the noise from the street can be annoying so take some earplugs. It is worth it because you will be right on the edge of the heart of the city of Reykjavik. On the same block is Cafe Loki with its delicious and unique selection of Icelandic treats. Guesthouse Sunna includes breakfast each morning with great coffee and cheese,... More

This is not a luxury establishment, but it's perfectly nice. Rooms were clean and well maintained. Furnishings were no more or less than needed. Beds were comfortable, but only passably so. The breakfast was great for me. Lots of choices. Fresh fruit, cereals, breads, tomatoes, coffee, etc. They even bake their own bread. The location was perfect for us. Right... More

Bad - The doors to all the rooms slam shut very loudly. This means that it is very difficult to sleep from 6am in the morning when people are leaving for excursions and after 11pm at night when people are returning. The walls are also very thin so you can hear EVERYTHING, even several floors above. I would suggest that... More

This was our final stop on a 10 day self drive ring road. It also seemed that most people staying at the hotel were airport bound the next day. We had budget accommodations so that meant shared bath. This guest house had an awesome set up for budget accommodations- two separate showers per 4 double rooms, full kitchen facilities and... More

Really well placed in the heart of Reykjavik and so within walking distance of restaurants, bars, Attractions and Tourist Centres. It is no frills and not a luxury hotel but it is clean and also has a small (shared) kitchenette area. Breakfast is basic but sufficient.

We only stayed here one night, but it was a very nice stay. We booked a double room with a private bath and it was a nice size and very clean. There was even a small balcony. The beds were comfortable and the curtains were thick enough to do a decent job keeping the summer sun out, but they were... More
