It's a university residence during term time, which should tell you most of what you need to know. 10 minute walk from centre. Easy to find as it's next to the landmark Halgrimskirkja, visible from most of the city. Front desk open 24 hours. Unfortunately rooms are the opposite of noise-proof so people talking etc can be a problem in... more

The location within town was great - easy to walk to food, shopping and whale watching. The room was pretty basic, though clean, and the bathroom small. The shower was terrible. There wasn't enough water pressure to really wash. It took forever to shower in there. My wife had to use the shared bathroom which had better water pressure. I... more

Sunna Guesthouse is very convenient. It's just by the nice church, walk distance to the two main shoppings streets, Langavigur and skolavordustigur. The breakfast is nice. Coffee is great. The people at the reception are very friendly, happy to help you if you need so. The rooms are colourful and comfortable. more

There's so much to do in Iceland, forking out for a expensive hotel is pointless, as you won't spend much time there. Guesthouse Sunna is located by Hallgrimskirkja and so is within easy walking distance to the city centre. It's a very small city and so everything is walkable. I opted for a private bathroom and stayed for 4 nights... more

We stayed here initially for 3 nights, and then a further night at the end of our trip over Easter and would highly recommend it. It's only a short walk from the Flybus terminal and an even shorter walk to the main street at the centre of Reykjavik. We had requested a double room with a balcony but on arrival,... more

We stayed at Sunna for 4 nights in March, and found it great! The location is hard to beat, being about 15 minutes walk away from most sights and also the wonderful marina area and old town. Prices for rooms are excellent – we stayed in a studio apartment for a ridiculously cheap price and it was a nice change... more

Great little place. We stayed in the most basic double room with shared baths and paid about $66 a night. The location was perfect (less than 10 minutes walk from BSI bus terminal, 5-10 minutes from all the action of Langavegur) and the hotel was quiet, clean and very comfortable. Staff was extremeley pleasant and helpful with directions, bookings, storing... more

Stayed in Guesthouse Sunna in Reykjavik, couldn't fault it - great price, location, breakfast and helpful staff. Went to stay in Hotel Ranga for one night with just an overnight bag and left the majority of our luggage in Guesthouse Sunna - free of charge! Nothing was a hassle for the staff and just made things really easy. Just book... more

I stayed here with a friend for two nights recently on a trip in Iceland. The location is ideal, it is really close to the main shopping street and across the street from the large catherdral. They provide home made bread for breakfast and the rooms were spotless. The staff was really nice and let me stay past the checkout... more

Our experience was that Guesthouse Sunna was very clean but rooms were a bit barren. Stark white walls and dorm-like furnishings gave the rooms an almost clinical, hospital-like feeling. Like most hospital rooms, the cleanliness of the property was pristine. We don't expect luxurious surroundings when we travel, but the clinical "feel" of this property would dissuade us from staying... more
