Unfortunately this will have to be the first negative review I write about holiday accommodation. My first two nights in one of the outbuilding rooms was absolutely fine, the room a good size and the breakfast decent. On the third day after finishing my breakfast, the husband of the couple who own the guesthouse came into the breakfast room and... More

I stayed at Baldurbra in November. Evelyn, the owner, is always around to help you with anything you need. She called our rental car company and gave us lots of dinner recommendations for our low budget. It's an affordable price to pay for solid lodging. The breakfast is solid and you can definitely eat enough to get ready for a... More

Just stayed at this guesthouse, family with 2 under 10s, shared a family room. The room was very clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The bathrooms were also clean and although the guesthouse was busy, sharing was not a problem. The central location was perfect, especially for tired small legs. Breakfast was extremely good. The owner was at times... More

Its look was nothing special, nor was it elegant or ultra-modern. Yet old-world charm filled this place. The ground floor was the common area shared between the hosts and guests. It felt like a usual home. Our room, Lyng, was spacious and laid with wooden floor tiles. It's bright and airy thanks to the windows over two sides of the... More

Evelyn, the owner seemed easy going and was very receptive to all questions and inquiries. She kept the breakfast well stocked with yogurt, cereals, meats, cheese, fruits, hard boiled eggs, orange juice... no hot food, but the breakfast did the job. Her husband did odd jobs and kept to himself, other then a wave and hello , not much was... More

After reading some of the negative reviews, I can only attest I had a similar experience. The lady owner of Baldursbra is pleasant enough (although not like the Icelandic population I had met during my 3 weeks), but her husband should not have any contact with the guests. I telephoned the day of arrival (4 July) informing the lady that... More

We were impressed and totally charmed by the french couple Evelyn and Philippe who run this lovely guesthouse. Clean, cozy and great location, we stayed both at the flat and the guesthouse and felt very much at home at both places. Great value! Comfy beds, great breakfast and attentive and helpful owners. We felt sad when leaving, like waving goodbye... More

Spent one night in a single room in the main guesthouse, and a further three in the apartment across the pond. Single room was small, but was flagged as such when I booked, and was fine for what I needed. The apartment was really spacious & comfortable, with reliable wifi, and a very reasonable price. Evelyne the owner was really... More

We booked at Baldursbra for our 3 days in Iceland. However, prior to getting there, my husband fell ill after traveling around the UK for 2 weeks. We then managed to book an early flight home, checking out of Baldursbra the next day. My husband called the owner and informed her of our plans and she became irate and berated... More

Dear guest, It is standard procedure during high-season that bookings cancelled on very short notice are still charged. I have not done so and that on top is the fact that the payment you left on the table that morning was not equal to the full amount for even the one night you stayed. In the meantime, you will excuse... More

Just stayed there for 5 nights with my g/f. Place was wonderful and in the center of everything in Reykjavik. Evelyne the owner was great. She helped us book tours and gave us some great advice on where to go and where NOT to go. The guesthouse was quite nice with very comfortable beds. Though bathrooms are shared, that wasn't... More
