This was our second stay at this hotel and despite having been two years since we stayed for 7-nights, they remembered us and warmly greeted us; it was almost like coming home. Hotel Phoenix is a lovely 9 room hotel, that is more of a B&B. The rooms are a decent size with very comfortable beds and the breakfast is... More

What a lovely little hotel in a quiet part of town. Helpful staff and rooms with a great sitting area catching a lot of light. The place is within easy walking distance of downtown and is clean comfortable and well priced. If I ever come this way again I will certainly stay here. The breakfast is reasonably basic but in... We recently spent 2 nights in this charming bed and breakfast right in the heart of Rekyavik. This traditionally furnished b&b is run by 2 guys who keep the place in immaculate condition. and you can see that they have put a lot of effort and time into refurbing this old building. The room we stayed in had an antique bed with... After booking a short break at the Hotel Phoenix I read the reviews and was a little concerned at some of the experiences of previous guests. This hotel is more like a b&b so doesn't have the facilities of a big hotel. If that is what you want then don't stay here. I am very glad that I didn't cancel... More

Stayed at Hotel Phoenix for 10 days. My husband and I decided to marry in Iceland and stayed here before and after the ceromoney. The owners are very welcoming and accommodating; they couldn't be more helpful. We were informed of restaurants, and places to visit. They even helped us with booking these. The room was very comfortable. The furnishings were... More

Trip Advisor has helped me so much that I want to contribute. I stayed at Hotel Phoenix in Reykjavik for 7 nights in mid-August. The place is stunning, charming, old-world European, and perfectly located only about 4 blocks from shopping and 8 blocks from the harbor, new Symphony Hall, and little museums and government buildings. There is a food market... More

This seemed like a good place at first, but don’t dare upset the manager. My wife was physically assaulted by the hotel manager while we were staying here. She couldn't sleep because of the street noise, went down to the lobby to browse the internet while I slept more, and the manager assaulted here. She screamed for help, which resulted... More

Those accusations of physical assault of one of the owners of Hotel Phoenix are completely false and will be dealt with by the hotel legal representatives. The customer is only trying to harm the Hotel because he was not satisfied with the room facing the street and not the garden. It is unbelievable how low people can go in their... More

We checked in at short notice and found the hotel comfortable, clean and quiet. The decor is traditional and characterful, rather than modern and minimalist. The rooms are very pleasant and the location central so you can walk to shops, swimming baths and museums.

My wife and spent 5 days in Reykjavik and at the last minute changed our lodging to the Phoenix Hotel because of the location. I had read reviews on Tripadvisor prior to booking the room so I was familiar with all the comments -positive and somewhat negative. We arrived at the hotel and as one reviewer wrote, the hotel keeps... More

At check in I felt very unwanted and aggravated. I was expected to do two things at once and the owners didn't know what to do since I didn't have the booking number. I wanted to get online to retrieve it and was told it costs 5 Euros. Fine but they weren't sure how to do that without checking me... More
