The location of this hotel is great. Close to everything. Parking is difficult. Rooms are tight. Bed is average in comfort. No ability to control air, and room was generally hot. Only provided one pillow for each person. TV is really small. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Internet was hit or miss which was annoying. They should easily be... More

Perfect location and friendly staff, but price was too high (as often in Iceland) for a small single room. Also WiFi does not work in all the rooms, which is rare in today's Europe. WiFi works well in lobby, but there is not enough space (only one table with coaches). Lobby cafe seems to be the best place for getting... More

Nice hotel with clean modern rooms. Well located in city centre close to old harbour and main attractions. Room had usual extras but was small. But certainly room for improvement Reception staff always on computers never said hello Maître D in restaurant unhelpful Tv reception terrible Breakfast buffet limited and never changed. No warning of concert in square outside the... More

This is a very nice hotel just in the middle of the town, where you can reach everything by foot. It is build in some older houses which were nicely renovated. Adequate rooms with enough space. Easy to reach from the airport by Flybus. Wifi in the rooms was Limited, better in the Lobby

Location is ideal. Several issues though. Late check in. WIfi connection is spotty, didn't reach room. Don't answer phone. Breakfast not included. Not worth the money, in fact we left prior to the conclusion of our stay.

Hotel was lovely and staff was gracious but they advertised wi fi in the rooms and it was not available. When I complained they said "since the new doors went on it's been a problem." So we had to sit on the floor in the hallway to work and communicate. Not acceptable. They should have moved us or made an... More

Yes, location is excellent, very close to shopping, restaurants, bars, etc. No issue here. However, the rooms themselves lack a little bit. My room (321), had a old TV (no flat screen), the WIFI was not working in the room (similar to others) You had to go to the lobby to use the WiFi which I find crazy for a hotel... More

The Hotel is located in the city center. In the neighbour one will find many restaurants and some museums. The hotel itself has very clean, but small rooms. The breakfast is european standard and good. The bar and the hotel restaurant are both good. This is a good place for doing excursions on Island. We would book this hotel again.

Right downtown with many restaurants and shopping immediately available. Decor in hallways muted and beautiful, rooms clean though small. We had a quiet room; one couple said they had to change theirs because of the street noise. Food good, though restaurant is small for the size of the hotel - was crowded at breakfast time. "Settler" museum right next door... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Reykjavik Centrum is a new first class hotel in the heart of the city, opened on April 1st 2005. It is located on one of Reykjavik’s oldest streets, Adalstraeti, in a newly renovated building, the oldest part of which was built in 1764. On each side of it, new buildings have been constructed in the likeness of their historic predecessors. The hotel spreads over all three buildings, and is designed in the style found in Reykjavík around 1900. During its construction, the remains of a Viking longhouse from the Settlement Period were found. Among the finds excavated at the site were Iceland’s oldest human remains, dating from approximately 870 AD.The hotel has 89 rooms, each fitted with modern amenities, such as satellite TV, telephone, Internet access, mini-bar, radio, iron and board, hair dryer, safe and tea & coffee set. All rooms have en-suite bathroom with either a shower or a bath. ... more   less
