Spent a couple of nights here on a recent visit to Iceland. The house is filled with character and warmth and was an excellent value. The owner was easy to work with, very gracious and accommodating. She also put together a nice Icelandic breakfast each morning. Brattagata is in an excellent location in the center of Reykjavik, less than a... More

Brattagata Guesthouse is situated in a great location in the middle of Reykjavik. The room is well furnished and the kitchen is useful for making yourself coffee or light meals. Ingunn, the owner is very welcoming and she makes a lovely breakfast which included omelette, meats, cheeses, cereals, breads, jams , juices , tuna and herring! we even saw the... More

The guesthouse is arranged in apartments, and I had one of the rooms on the lower floor, with use of a dining room, full kitchen, and shared bathroom, shower and laundry area (useful for drying clothes). The apartment is lovely and warm, with comfy beds and sofa. The location couldn't be better, right in the heart of the old town,... More

My wife, son and I stayed with Ingunn in her wonderful apartment upstairs. We were originally scheduled to stay at another nearby property, but when we arrived we were sent to the Brattagata instead. What a stroke of good luck. We were supposed to have an efficiency, but instead we were given a spacious tw0-bedroom apartment at Brattagata. We loved... More

Brattgata is a in the heart of Reykjavik and a perfect place to stay for a few days. We arranged to stay in the two bedroom basement apartment which also had a living/dining room, fully equipped kitchen, shower room and separate bathroom. We didn't want to stay in a large hotel but rather in a more intimate setting and this... More

She is welcoming and always ready to help the visitors in their trip. The breakfast is excellent and is made of a broad choice... More

Ingunn was so nice. Very welcoming. I enjoyed chatting and getting to know her at breakfast. The breakfast was great with lost of variety - cheese, cold cuts, eggs, smoked fish, bread with jams. The location was also excellent. Right next to the Plaza hotel- all of the tour buses pick up right there in front of the Plaza. You can... More

Brattagata guesthouse is perfectly located in the center of Reykjavik: shops, supermarket, bars and restaurants, tourist information, hop on and drop off point of the flybus are all just around the corner. It's a short walk to the harbour. We stayed in the basement which is a small apartment: two bedrooms, a bathroom, a large kitchen with a fridge, utensils... More

We are always staying at Brattagata during our business trips to Iceland. We always feel there almost like at home. Location is perfect - the very center of the city close to many great restaurants. Best host ever, tasty breakfasts and cozy clean rooms. You will not do mistake staying there.

We were traveling around Iceland and this was our first and last stop. This guesthouse was the best accommodation we had (quality vs. price). Great host and perfect location with shops/restaurants nearby. Spacious rooms, well equipped shared rooms (especially kitchen). Living room full of nice publications about Iceland which gave us perfect tips for trips. Photo my wife made from... More
