Compared to the many other hostels where I have stayed this one is fairly depressing. I stayed here in a private single in November for a few nights. I had early starts planned each day, and with the reception only being open from 08:00 to 16:00 there was never anyone around until the day I left. The spartan rooms are... More

We stayed here for about 5 nights and it was a really good experience. The room was small but it's a hostel so you expect that; but we didn't have to share a dorm it was our own room with super comfortable beds and pillows and really warm! There were 2 bathrooms on our "floor" (I say floor but it's... More

Booked a double bedroom in this hostel. It is clean, nice and comfortable but our room was so far from the reception/breakfast area (RHV comprises of many triple-storey houses along the street and the reception unit is at the end of the line). If it wasn't for our rental car, we would have to lug our bags to the reception... More

Since Iceland is crazy expensive in general, cannot say if my stay at Hostel Village was expensive or not. I spent very little time at a hotel, and my impressions are lightly under average. Hotel staff is OK, facilities are just average, clean just enough, rooms just big enough, maybe a bit too warm, location very good. I would appreciate... More

I made a reservation. I informed them that I would be arriving late. I was told via email that someone would be available to check me in. When I arrived I found there was no one physically present. I pressed a button rec'd directions that were hard to understand due to traffic outside. I was buzzed inside to fine an... More

This is not Marriott neither Hilton, but that was actually the reason I did not book there, cause my budget would not be good friends with these 5 star Hotels ha ha. (Don't get me wrong, I would like to stay there.) Reykjavik Hostel Village is a simple, clean and functional hotel and I really enjoyed the breakfast buffet. I... More

This was my first time staying in a hostel and I greatly enjoyed the little time I was there. I traveled alone to Iceland and felt very safe everywhere I ventured. The office staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast cost was a bit spendy for a continental style but the staff was friendly and the tent area was very... More

This was a three day stay. The location was easy walking distance to the city center. A couple of grocery stores were nearby as was a pharmacy. I had to take a double room as no singles were available but that gave me more room to spread out. There was a sink in the room which was convenient and an... More
