Beautiful decor and helpful front desk reception but we were kept awake by the very boozy scene at the bar. Great breakfast but overall very high ticket ($550. Per night) for a minimalist room on 2nd floor. Great linens but thin mattress and no soaking tub.

This is my second stay at 101 after having had a great experience in the winter of 2008. While the hotel is just slightly showing its age now 6 years later, it is mostly in terrific shape and as luxurious and comfortable to stay at as it was then. In particular I had no sightseeing plans, and the front desk... More

Cool and funky. Very helpful reception team. Great sitting room with open fire and very cool decor. Super breakfast and again in a trendy, funky fit out. Very central, walking distance to everything in town. Compact rooms but have all you need and cool fit out. Can be noisey due to the inner city location.

Over the course of our stay we dealt with 2 people at the hotel's front desk. Both were rude and help was not forthcoming. When we scheduled a a car to go to the airport, the staff was not informative or helpful. When the car was scheduled to arrive we asked for an update and were told that we should... More

As you walk into this expensive cool hotel you are thrilled. As you walk up to the front desk and get three front desk clerks speaking to each other but not you. Who when asked to move you for some of your stay to a quieter room...although they may be right there are none.. Are offended! Who give you for... More

If you are looking for a super convenient hotel, this hotel will be perfect for you. Only one block away from the main shopping areas and most importantly the famous hot dog stand! The rooms are very well decorated and comfortable. Didn't try the food as I opted for other local food instead so can not comment. As suggested by... More

This is a great hotel, super rooms and divine bedding! Very modern, glass walls around toilet a bit too much for me, but otherwise great! Breakfast delicious and ambiance in the evening very warm. Location is super with our favourite stores just around the corner.

Part of the Design Hotels affiliation, the Hotel 101 is centrally located about one block off the main shopping district and nearby to the harbour. We had one of the Junior Suites and it was quite large, with both a shower and a separate freestanding tub. We had a decent view of the harbour and plenty of light, especially when... More

Unless you will be happy at these prices for the location alone, I suggest you look elsewhere. Under-lighted hallways and hip music alone cannot make a good hotel. Front desk help is nonexistent. Most of the time, you have to call out to get someone to help you. And I underscore the comments of the previous reviewer about the attractive... More

This is not the best hotel I ever stayed in - but it was a very good choice for a short stay of 2 nights in Reykjavik. It is not a five star, so no one rushes out to help with your luggage, and the service at breakfast is basic. It is within the context of this particular city and... More
