Wonderful stay at the Fosshotel Baron. We arrived around 7am and just by chance they had our room ready early! That was a lifesaver, we were able to freshen up and take on the town for New Years Eve. Room had a great view of the fireworks!!

This is a great hotel and I would highly recommend it for stays in Reykjavik. Eating in Reykjavik is expensive and this is one of the few hotels I found that included breakfast in the room rate. The breakfast included hot food (eggs, bacon, sausages, waffles) traditional continental (cereals, toast, fruit, yoghurt, tea/coffee) and then also included hams and cheeses.... More

I travelled all over the world and have seen many hotels. This hotel was a bad one. The positive things about this hotel is its location on walking distance from the city center and having free parking space in front of the hotel. Also the breakfast is ok with the possibility to make your own waffles. However the service from... More

We spent 2 nights at the Fosshotel Baron in December 2012. Our travel agent had booked us a triple room, which was very large. There was a double bed, a sleep sofa, and a full kitchen. The sleep sofa didn't have a lot of padding, but our daughter was ok for the 2 nights. The center of Reykjavik was a... More

Just a couple of minutes walk off Laugavegur, Reykjavik's colourful and charming main street, I thought this hotel perfect for our reasonably priced weekend in Iceland. My husband felt the small room with velux windows was claustraphobic, but I thought it was very nicely furnished and cosy. The hotel was spotlessly clean. They were shampooing all the carpets when we... More

This reasonably priced hotel is in a good location - easy walking to the centre of Reykjavic and close to the coast. Our room was quite small, as others have mentioned but quite adequate. The only slight negative comment would be the lack of drawer or shelf space for clothes - although there was plenty of hanging space. Self serve... More

Fantastic location, within walkiing distance of all of Reykjavik's main sights/shopping streets. Breakfast is plentiful and great variety. Staff are very friendly and knowledgable. Spent 5 nights there between Dec 8th - 13th 2012. Double room was spacious, clean and quiet. Handy 24hr supermarket adjacent to the rear of the hotel. Will definitely stay there if I return to Iceland.

great location on Baron street which is aprx. 5 min walk from laugavegur which is iceland main shopping street. The hotel is 3 star and as that it fulfills that all the way. The room was small but cosy and the bed nice.

I had read a lot of good reviews about this hotel before I booked it and that was certainly the case. The hotel and rooms are spotless. My room was just like the hotel photos. It was quite small and very warm. Complimentary tea and coffee in the room. Free use of computer in the reception. Ample buffet breakfast. Hotel... More

Having visited Reykjavik (Dec 12), I think this is the most underestimated destination in Europe. What an amazing place! I have never seen so many real Xmas trees out on streets! A true Xmas experience. Reykjavik is a small and compact town and Baron Hotel is perfectly positioned near the main shopping/restaurant/bar street. To be fair and honest, our room... More
